    Hi.
    My total for January £178.69.
Very happy with that as they were fairly small items that fetched a bit more than I thought.
Sold a couple of bits already this month.Listed a few more items.
Should have done a lot more today, but to be honest, couldn't be asked :-(
Have a couple of books on Amazon,no luck yet. Maybe go through the bookcase to see if there is anything suitable for trade-in.
I just want rid of the clutter.

  • Well done everyone! That's about £5000 sold, just in January, just by people on this thread. Awesome. Thanks so much to Samiszel for adding everything up!

Right. On with February, and I have a whopping £3 to add, from a toy. I do have a couple of bigger sales in the pipeline, but I need to be more assiduous about listing stuff.

In my experience, things that are useful to most people sell quickly, as do things that are giftable (i.e. brand new in box or with tags), and almost anything of that type sells. If you look at my posts I've sold an extraordinary range of things, mostly by sorting out a shelf or a box, putting the stuff I don't want on the selling group and seeing what happens. I'm also primarily decluttering.

Harder things to shift are books and dvds. VHS videos are impossible; sling any you've got or give them to schools/nursing homes etc that still have VHS players.

For eBay, the size of the item matters a lot; if it will fit in large letter format you're much more likely to be able to sell it to cover your costs than if it's a small parcel; and if it's a medium parcel then you need to investigate couriers because Royal Mail is so expensive.

A good way to find out what to sell is to look for what people are asking for on the selling groups; even if they don't then want your thing, it's likely that someone else will want it.

Today; a spare set of bedding (shabby but flannel for the winter!) £10
