2015: Sell £1000

Not sure how much interest there'll be though, given the cost of postage. I didn't realise it had got so expensive to post a polo shirt / football shirt (£2.80 for 2nd class) - and then an extra £1.10 for recorded (taking it to £3.90) The last time I used the service it was only 70p :o

And then you have to add on to allow for the fees that'll be taken by eB@y (10%) and Payp@l (3.4%), which by my reckoning means I have to charge £4.51 to break even - and that's with nothing towards packaging materials :(

And this is why local selling groups help so much, because there are a whole pile of things that just aren't economic to sell on eBay any more.

Meanwhile, most of the things I do have on eBay have watchers, so I expect them to sell on payday. FB selling is still slow, but I sold a pile of Hama beads and bases for £3.
Make £2023 in 2023: (all decluttering), current total £2860 me, £330 for friends & family, £468 charity donations.

Unfortunately hubby didn't support a local club, so I don't think there'd be much interest on local groups.

Going to have a real play with postage costing tonight - weighing things individually and as multiples. I *think* I may be able to do a better reduction for more than 1 item on 1 invoice which should help :)

I'll just have to try and always put up items of a 'type' each month, so that I can do this. If I put a mix of small/light and larger/heavier items it'll get much more difficult to do so.

cw18 Smaller items like t-shirts it's worth testing see if they will go through large letter slot - 2.5cm thickness, and 35.3 X 25cm up to 750g. You'd be surprised what will... and it will half your prices :)

They're thick adults T-shirts in XL size. I tried a few things, and can't confidently do them as a large letter :(

  • Challenger 38 with a bit more to add. A bit slow-going but the year is still young:)

£25.94 net profit from selling books on Amazon. Several low-value books but every little helps and at least the clutter is getting less:j

Congratulations on brilliant results from so many people. Puts me to shame:o

what I've done is cut a 2.5cm slot in a cardboard box so I package them up then test them through the slot that way I can be sure before I get to the post office.
If you ask at your local post office they should have cardboard things you can have for free to test letter sizes.... x

I don't find cardboard ones very reliable, as they have 'play' in them

I have a plastic one somewhere, but unfortunately I've not used it for that long that it's buried somewhere under all the clutter I need to clear out / sell :D
