Late to start, but hope to make up for it. OH has been asking me to get rid of some stuff, and this thread looks like a good support mechanism for my procrastinatory weaknesses
We have a houseful of junk - now DS's and DD's are reaching late teens and can't really justify keeping older CDs and books
I don't want to set an accurate target as I haven't done any planning - but £250 a month would seem possible, through bigger items at the start and more energy at the end. Will mainly be ebay of 2nd hand stuff, but may also include car boot and crafts (from OH)
Looking forward to seeing what I can boost the budget with, and for being inspired by your effortsI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Just packing up my for my first ever transaction with a CD buying service. If it all goes smoothly (sounds like could be up to 3 weeks before I see the money - 7 days to reach them, 7 days for quality check and 7 days for payment) that should be a few ££s coming in. These are 33 CDs that belonged to my late hubby who had a weird (to me) taste in music, and have been sitting in a box very unloved for just over 8 years - so I'll be glad to see the back of them!! It didn't seem worth the hassle of listing on eB@y given all the fees I'd also have to cover. Will declare the figure once it's in my bank
And I've at least one item going up on eB@y tonight. Not holding my breath on getting back even half of what I paid for it, but it was bought as a present and has been sitting in a drawer for almost 5 years since I discovered just before the birthday that it wouldn't be well received (and I couldn't take it back).
Hoping to get some more items sorted for listing today before the light gets too bad for taking pics.Cheryl0 -
Is it too late to join you all. I'm decluttering my own things and I also need to start on my parents house too. :eek:0

Deferred eB@y listings until Thursday.
I have about a dozen items really need to go up at the same time, but a few of them needed washing first. So they're in the washing machine now, will be hung up to dry before I go to bed, and should be dry by Wednesday morning which is when I'm next likely to have time to take pics / get listings written. (A few of them could do with ironing before I take pics too, and I hate ironing!)
Not sure how much interest there'll be though, given the cost of postage. I didn't realise it had got so expensive to post a polo shirt / football shirt (£2.80 for 2nd class) - and then an extra £1.10 for recorded (taking it to £3.90) The last time I used the service it was only 70p
And then you have to add on to allow for the fees that'll be taken by eB@y (10%) and Payp@l (3.4%), which by my reckoning means I have to charge £4.51 to break even - and that's with nothing towards packaging materials
At least I think I've figured out how to let someone deduct all but one recorded delivery fee before paying if they have more than 1 thing on a single invoice by using the eB@y basketJust wish they hadn't started charging fees on postage, as I used to do an accurate invoice for combined shipping once someone let me know they were done bidding on my stuff - but it doesn't look like I can do that anymore!
