Pandapaws, if I posted a picture of my bedroom you would faint, I swear. I can actually see bits of carpet in yours!

Go on, try out that new camera!
I've always wondered what it felt like to faint anyway, and it would probably get me the day off work tomorrow to tackle my bedroom dust monsters!

Ah that reminds me, where is the new camera? DS has taken a liking to it and has been photographing us all day.

But I'm too ashamed to post a picture of my bedroom. Picture boxes of [STRIKE]ropy old books[/STRIKE] valuable Amazon stock, curtains half hanging off where kids have swung on them, carrier bags of old school work that I can' t bear to throw away but have nowhere to house, clothes that are neither dirty enough to wash nor clean enough to put away strewn everywhere. It is a sordid scene indeed.

But it'll have to wait as Hypno has decreed this is Lounge Week and the lounge is, if anything, worse.

Yes, PP, the first colour scheme has the edge on the second!!

I saw a beautiful duvet and pillowcase set today but resisted - the last lot I got was from Freecycle, and I would so love to be able to indulge in something so so luxurious. One day!!

Seaxwyn - you have described my bedroom perfectly!! You can make it bedroom week instead of lounge week if you want! I don't even know why I did mine this weekend - just had that sort of rare urge. It is SO rare I dare not let it go, so just got on with it, and am mighty pleased with the result. OH won't recognise the place when he gets home from work!!

Yep seaxwyn - you're describing my bedroom pretty well too at the moment (remember you couldn't see the piles of crap that were behind the camera too!) - the clothes that are too clean to wash and too dirty to put away just about sums up my life! They sit in a pile until they then become too creased to wear, at which point they join the proper dirty washing anyway, so why don't we just chuck them in the wash in the first place???

We're going to take the little one to York Railway Museum this afternoon after work (I say 'we' liberally - DH will take DS to museum - I plan on dumping them there and going to the enormous TK Maxx homestore to purchase new duvet covers! Who wants to look at a pile of old trains?!), but when we get home, the bedroom WILL be clean. I'll commit to that by promising to post another photo of the bedroom this evening, simply because I won't be able to live with the shame of posting the same picture again! I at least have to move the half-bog-roll off the bedside as the cold has been completely gone for a few days now, and actually put the new pillows into pillowcases and throw the old ones away. If nothing else, I'll do those things!

Pandapaws, you star! I love your photos. And I'm totally on board with the too clean to wash, too dirty to put away. Love the diary, and can't believe how you're managing to cope with that level of debt, *so* well done.

  • Panda, your bedrom is gorgeous, especially in picture number one, but i don't think picture number two is that bad!

My bedroom is clean and tidy (apart from the diminishing pile of ebay stuff in the corner) but doesn't look anywhere near as nice as that. As I'm in the "only room to walk around the bed brigade" it needs keeping tidy or we just can't stir. Goodness knows where the baby is going to sleep!?!

:T Thank you - I had completely forgotton about that!!! Will look out the stuff later and ring them to see how much it's worth, but probably well worth keeping!

It was £800 when we got it and that was nearly 7 years ago.
