Reduced from £60 to £30.
I've still got plenty of toiletries, I don't know anyone who wants one, the mascara's too gloopy for a start and the special case is just some more toot to find space for.
The No7 special offer is also NOT being bought.
Yes Me I have brought both sets for the past two years.
Last year down here there were loads of soap and glory left in the sales.
I do like No 7 though but far too busy at the moment as I have cleaning to do.
Also I have been asked to make mince pies and gingerbread men.0 -
Some very interesting articles in the online newspapers regarding static sales and Black Friday not being much cop! Seems the stores are reducing before Christmas to try and shift stock!
For me I will wait until the post Christmas sales and see whats on. Last year I waited out until the second week of January and got the pair of boots from Jones's that i had wanted with an extra £20.00 off for just holding my nerve! I still look at them and feel very proud for that and gave them a good polishing a few weeks back now ready for use.
Next VIP sale starts tomorrow! I am not much bothered by these sales as i used to be. Years ago I used buy just about everything in the sales, but these last few years i have found in the Christmas sales especially i have really been scratching around for a true bargain. Some of it is 'Special Buys' which is another sentence for bought in especially for the sales stock! I am not even too plussed about Emma Bridgewater's sale this year - and that is really a big first for me
There is nothing that I really want as such although i will buy the reduced cards and gift wrap from Fenwick's reday for putting up for next year!
On the subject of the OP - Chirpycheap - regarding the Radio Times I picked one up in Tesco and put it into the trolley it was only when I got home that I fumed for several days at being ripped off for the grand sum of £4.00 - I am not going to get stung like that again. Tradition be blowed three quidly in difference I shall remember that folly of mine!Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money:beer:

I too am amazed at the price of the RT I certainly will not be buying this year as £4.00 will put several dinners on my table.
I have worked out what I want to be TiVo'ed on my TV whilst I am away and I will be happy with that ,there is always catch-up in any case.
Probably won't be that bothered by the 'sales' either unless some Christmassy bits are reduced, maybe some wrapping paper or cards but that's about all. At my age my wants are few really ,one reason why my children and grandchildren find me hard to buy for as I can't think of anything I either want or need to be honest:)
As long as there is a roof over my head and food in the cupboard then very little else is needed at all. I really am a cheap date:):)
I am so pleased that I still have around half of my December food budget left in my purse and all being well it will go into my holiday fund next week. Shortest day over and done with so days will soon be drawing out again and before you know it the spring will be here.I have hyacinth bulbs half up already in my garden !!! still very mild here in the south east.

I live about half an hour from Bluewater, and nothing on earth would tempt me there at this time of the year. The car parks are dreadfully designed and in my opinion if there was any sort of emergency I have no idea how anyone would get out of the place0

Hi All,
I am planning on Not Buying It again in 2016 as it was so helpful this year!
By being careful to avoid the impulse buys (lunches/snacks etc), I was able to enjoy a long weekend (stag do) in Galway in May, including transport, accommodation and entertainment, the follow up wedding in August in Kent and my own 50th birthday in July, without having to worry about how I would get through the rest of the month! In fact, the left over Euros from the stag party were used as the wedding gift to the Happy Couple as they honeymooned in Italy :-)
I have another wedding to enjoy next year but this time it is in Ireland, in December, so all the costs will be much higher.... however, this time I KNOW that by NBI throughout the year, I will be able to save, pay as early as possible and then relax and enjoy the wedding without worry!
Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year everyone and keep posting on how you are NBI, I really did find all the posts very motivating!

I did buy the Soap and Glory set, but only for my sister's birthday next June! She's crazy about their products and will love the case it came in as well, so I invested. Shan't need to buy her anything else. A bought her something similar in Ted Baker fragrances a few years back on a similar deal - maximum brownie points for big sis! They are things she loves but wouldn't buy for herself, so it's a big :money:from me!3-6 month EF Challenge Member #19: £3590/£6000.[/B] Craft destash from 22.5.22: 46/200. Utterly crazy. Did all my gift shopping and about half of my food shop online this year. Best move ever. Minimum stress, limited my spending to the budget I'd set (apart from food, where I wildly underestimated as it's my first Christmas GC:o), lots of peace and quiet in hibernation mode.
On another note, yes please to carrying this thread on into 2016 - I love it!3-6 month EF Challenge Member #19: £3590/£6000.[/B] Craft destash from 22.5.22: 46/200. Declutter from 22.5.22: 105/250 Car finance PAID OFF £7,848.88 IN 2019 (0% LOB)0 -

Radio Times not really an option here but I use this site on my computer.

It is customisable to which channels you have and you can also change the number of hours displayed, e.g. I use the 6 hour as most of the programmes I like to watch are broadcast between 7pm and midnight, so I can see them all in one go
I think the BBC are stuck a bit like the NHS. They both rely on public money and have had budgets slashed so have to raise money other ways. BBC use the RT, NHS it's car parksAiming for a Champagne Lifestyle on a Lemonade Budget

If you have a tablet you can download the Freeview App which gives all the tv programmes and by clicking on any particular programme you get a summary of what the programme is about0
