Islandmaid your post made me laugh out loud literally, thank u for that, I love big bang, also have just finished watching 2 Broke Girls which is hilarious too.
Thanks for the olen cleaning tips, I must do mine, it stinks when its on, there's something burnt on the bottom.
Does anyone else keep thinking "I must go food shopping today" purely out of habit then when you actually look around you don't need anything? realised had a real habit of doing lots of little shops, only needing a couple of things but ending up with unnecessary things. Well no more thanks to this thread. The kids did come home and look in the cupboards and say everything was out of stock!! But they had a snack, went to dance class then I made mac and cheese with some frozen veg bunged in which they wolfed down.
I can't seem to add smilies, does anyone know y? I'm on advanced.Mum to 2 DSs, dog mum, wife full-time worker.

Ooof, one sleep until the washer arrives which means that I have been woman-handling the existing washer out of its nest as the delivery men are not apparently allowed to remove you washer from its fitments, just uplift it from inside the flat.
So, I have detached it from the sink and declared an 18 hr moratorium on washing dishes, as I have a bowl under the sink because of the pipe which drains the washer being detached.
I will share the following nuggets of wisdom in case they may benefit anyone here:
1. I knew there would be water in the pipes. I didn't realise that with the washer having been unused since mid Dec that it would be stagnant water. Doesn't half whiff - yuck.
2. The only way into my 6 x 6 ft kitchen is via a sliding door into the living room. This leads to plenty of comedic acts regarding appliances. It would have been better to take the end-stops off the wall of the living room, so that the kitchen shutter door can slide all the way back, before woman-handling the washer over the door-runner. Done now.
3. I seriously need to work out more.:rotfl:
I dunno what it is with washers, they're so heavy anyone would think they'd got chunks of concrete in them or something.
On the buying front I have bought my onion sets from £landia, a haircut and a fish supper (because I needed buidling up after washer-wrestling).
I will now have a cuppa and a scone, to restore my ladylike ambience. Better hide the toolkit back under the bed first, though. Oh, and I have got a library book which I'd been after for a while so very happy with that.My washer should be here by 11 am tomorrow and I am really ridiculously happy about the opportunity to do laundry.
Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Is this ship a rowing boat or a speed boat. i can,t keep up with the posts.
I rather see this ship as a majestic galleon, carved wooden railings, white, billowing sails and a magnificent wheel with which to steer, spiderweb in design but made of clear glass, Smooth to the touch and weightless to move. The decks are polished planks gleaming in the sunlight and the crows nest high, so we can see over the waves of 'stuff' that crash across our bow. The front has a mermaid like appearance, long flowing locks and scaly tail to guide us through the stormy oceans. How does that sound to you all?
So, a bitsy, piecey weekend of comings and goings, pitfalls and presents alike. One little present was a gift from the soil itself and it really made me smile. I had run out of potatoes on Sunday and was thinking I was going to have to call on my nerves and visit the local MrT metro. Expensive and irritatingly short of most things you would really want, I was putting it off and putting it off and decided I would go and do a bit of leaf clearance and digging of the veg patch before walking down to the village. Well, having shuffled a few ( I lie, loads) of leaves I began to dig. And I think you may guess what I found! Yes! Potatoes! Snuggled in the soil, unloved and missed in previous digging, they were perfectly edible. Do you know, I couldn't have been happier if I'd dug up jewels themselves. It was a deep down, unexpected and truly wonderful find.
You must all think I'm nuts. Sorry! I'm still ok to steer, don't worry.
Kind regards

Slowdown:)I don't think you're nuts at all. I grew 84.5 kg of potatoes on the proper potato patch and still grin at the unexpected excavation of a handful of volunteer potatoes which grew elsewhere on the allotment, often unseen, and come to light when digging like lovely oval pearls.
In fact, I have just recalled that I have a small cache of these almost under the blackcurrant bush on the allotment, so will have to carefully delve those up with my bare hands, to protect the roots of the bush. Ain't nature wunnerful?Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Greyqueen you made me smile I hope everything goe's to plan with the new washer.
The only spending I have done today is food related and that wasn't much.
Yesterday I got two free tics for the cinema to see Testament of Youth, but I forgot that you had to pay to park there. Film was good though I will have to reread the book.
today my work shoes started to come apart I hope that they can be repaired as I don't want to spend out on a new pair and I only have the one pair.0 -
Thanks to Grey Queen, ImDoingItForMe and Dawn W for the advice.
I managed to do a food shop and kept to my list spent just over £15 but I have nearly two weeks meals planned with a few too put back into the freezer.
Off to read some of the blogs that have been mentioned0 -
