    Afternoon all,

Sorry to hear about those of you who are unwell/have to visit hospital, take care.

Congratulations to all of you who are now debt free or are having successful non spend days.

I nearly succumbed late last night (could not sleep) and I was on the lush website looking at the shampoo bars (never heard of them before yesterday) and I put one in the checkout bag, thankfully the site then crashed! I have no need of shampoo as have two bottles already.

I listened to the R4 programme this morning and found it very interesting. I spent the time while listening going through my shredding.

I have not listened to R4 for years, many interesting programmes.

Since I hit 50 my skin has got quite bad, think it must be the changing hormones. Very annoying but hopefully should clear in time.

    Take care all.

Hope your nail gets better soon Pixie, it sounds painful.:(

I used to use Liz Earle and I did like it, especially the moisturiser.

I had a thought that I would use fabric dye to dye all my bedding the same colour as we are selling the house and thought that would be a cheap way of getting a coordinating look. My walls are just magnolia and I have beige curtains so I thought maybe a deep colour like purple would look nice. I will have to wait until payday as it wasn't in the January budget.:D

I have home made bean stew to heat up for lunch and I will have some extra steamed veggies and some warm wholemeal pitta and maybe a drop of onion gravy. Mmm, I'm getting hungry.

Thanks purpleshoes  I'll give that a go for beauty treatments :D

Do you use it on your face in the morning as well as bedtime?

I'm going to try it as body oil tonight after my bath - likely slide off the bed:eek:

Butter just made, and we have enough for a few months I think, for the grand price of £3 plus electricity. Oh and buttermilk for scones too. So I'm not buying butter.

I actually used it more when I came back from a holiday in Spain and felt that my skin was a bit dry, its not that greasy. If I tend to put it on my face I'll do so before going to bed but I wouldnt think there would be any problem putting it on during the day either.

Its got quite a nice texture to it, my skin felt good when I used it.
  • Another NSD here today, I have spent most of the day doing mount washmore, that has suddenly appeared, the sprogs have cleaned their rooms animated-smileys-rolleyes-10.gif sigh.
I have now had to add washing powder and white vinegar to my shopping list for Thursday.

I have a hospital appointment tomorrow as well, it is at least a 2 hour one because I have to have lots of tests and I have to see the consultant as well, it is a pita because the appointment starts at 2.30pm :(

How strange.... I am off to hospital tomorrow evening for an endoscopy. I did phone this morning to check that my appointment was really at 7.15pm.

Been for a walk, paid in my savings from last year and been out in the garden too so a good day. Trying to do things for 25mins at a time with the alarm set on my phone to remind me to stop. On bad days, it goes down to 10mins!

No car used today, only milk bought, garden a bit tidier and more emails deleted. I am going to try to record all my spends for a month to see if I can reduce it any further. However, the freezer is jammed full so I am buying things from my stores rather than shops if you know what I mean? Back to ordinary food and menu planning which is quite a relief, hopefully my weight will find it a relief too.

Enjoy the rest of your day, shipmates

Hi All :j. Just read through the thread and im now up to date. We all have been busy haven't we.
I listened to the Radio 4 programme. Very interesting and good to know I'm not odd in my frugalness. None of my friends are like me.
Today I binned 3 carrier bags of tat not good enough for the CS.
Ebayed lots of things I don't want so I can save for a new laptop.
Went into town. A first for me. The last time I went in to town was November. I decided to get rid of my boots advantage card. Asked the cashier how much was in there (found out the machines that you used to get the occasional coupons for freebees have gone) I very rarely go into boots as I find its too expensive. Anyway found some shampoo for the same amount on the card bought that and have now cut the card up. Don't have an online account with them so they only had or have details of my old address. So no emails to contend with.
Also I had an old New Look gift voucher. Did same, went to till £2.01 on the card. Wandered around. Found an Xmas pressie suitable for a relative for next year. Original price £9.99. Reduced to £3. Got to till and it was further reduced to £2.
    So shampoo and present £0.
Superglue I needed from 99p shop was my only spend.
Also dug out an Argos card which has £1.48 left on it. I need some batteries so will pop to the out of town one next week.
Phoned co op as I have a membership card I never use. I don't shop there I work at another big Supermarket. Cancelled my membership and will get back what I had in there.. Im thinking £1 lol.... They wouldn't tell me how much but she said it was a very small amount.
So cards cut up and thrown in bin. And only Argos one to sort out.
Posted eBay stuff I sold. But postage came from buyer.
All in all a busy day.
Now need a coffee and feet up.

Just been checking my phone bill and realised that I am paying £1.85 a month for a service I never use. Have now cancelled it so that is £22.20/year that can be put to better use.
