Feel free to take advice from a brainwashed apple fan boi.

No I prefer to think for myself thanks and make informed decisions, and then pass my wisdom on to people who don't know any better.

Got some unused tesco vouchers, is the hudl2 any good?
  • Android is by far the best os!

I have a £500 ipad for work and it is terrible constantly crashes, there is never something that is not wrong with it.

I have a nexus 7 for personal use Which is a fraction of the price and nothing is ever gone wrong with it, ever and does everything the ipad does + a lot more!!!

iOS is just a rip off and is not fit for purpose imo

You'd probably be best off with an iPad; Android isn't a very good OS so you wouldn't want to be lumped with it.

Thanks for that I needed a laugh.

I've read good reviews on it and know someone who has one - apparently it is very good, especially for the relatively low price.

I've just moved from i pad to a Samsung tab s. My ipad kept crashing and was unusable by the end. I'm loving the Samsung and the screen is brilliant and it's easy to use.

I have an iPad and my OH has a Nexus 10, wifi only on both (decided to opt for a bigger memory in favour of paying more for cellular thinking how often really am I stuck without a wifi signal) mainly used for browsing the net and streaming (me sky go and iplayer, OH BT Sports) and really (Prob not very helpfully) I'd say both are as good at what they do as each other.

Have noticed my iPad freezes sometimes after the last OS update if I type too fast. Can't comment on Nexus as OH types slower and less often than me.

One thing I'd say with the iPad is think about the spec you want then choose the appropriate model for your budget, don't try and keep up with the latest and greatest, next version is usually only 6mths away.

  • Also your requirement
Would want it to have a sim card slot to access internet when out.

I just tether to my mobile (connect the tablet to my mobile via wifi and use my mobile data), costs less than having a separate sim and contract also it doesn't restrict your tablet choices.

If you want an iPad with a SIM card and budget is £300 roughly then you are looking at the original iPad Mini. The current one is iPad Mini 3. For £40 more you can get an iPad Mini 2. However it would be 16gb and in my opinion that's too small.

If you want to watch films then IMHO I would prefer a full size iPad. In which case I would look at eBay for a second hand one from a reputable seller.

You can bring the cost down by not having a SIM card. Could you do without? I find the mobile signal even around the Home Counties can be quite flakey - not sure I want to be using iPlayer or streaming movies via cellular.

None of the iPads have memory card slots.

I don't know anything about Android so someone else will have to help with that!

If going for an iPad, I would definitely not choose the original iPad Mini.
As a mimimum, I would consider this Refurbished iPad mini 2 Wi-Fi + Cellular 32GB - Space Grey for £319.

If you needed a bigger screen, then perhaps this iPad Air at £389.

Though I've not ever jumped on the Apple train...I have a girlfriend...so I know what's on offer :)
