HELP!!! just receieved a letter from the bank with a very dismal offer which i want to reject, it is'nt even half of amount owed but not sure due to this new ruling. Can anyone advise me? was about to write to them saying i'm willing to go to court.
    Advise welcomed.
  • lol. I have been waiting months and months and months and months for the Halifax to make me an offer before I go to court. Now they said 4 days ago that they will in 3 weeks (I know @:'/.) and this happens.... I will wait and see but now I think it will not happen. as of now they owe me £5500 and it will go up more by the time this is over. I have begged them time and time again to put up my overdraft from £250 to £500 just for 4-5 months to get the right side of my account, but they say no. They are making too much money out of me and I have no way of helping myself, they have got me where they want me, up to my eyes in s**t. IM THE IDEAL CUSTOMER.

  • Hi Everyone,

I had a claim go through with barclays which i accepted about a week ago now and i have just contacted their department that deals with these claims and they have informed me that they will still be honouring all claims where an offer has been made and an acceptance has been sent as long as it was before yesterdays announcements.

Once i get another free spot at work i will be phoning up the credit card companies and seeing whether they fall under this claim freezing.

Hasn't someone already said they don't? Could be mistaken though.

Sorry if this has already been said but I have just phoned the FO and credit card claims are not affected - they are still being investigated as before and are not included in the 'freeze'.
So anyone in that situation ie claims with the FO against credit card fees WILL proceed as before.

    Barclays do what they want.
I'm waiting my court case they defended yesterday.
They closed my account yet they still send me a statement every month with the only transaction being 1 out going £10 for having the account. So Ijust let this rack up each month. They closed the account in February so I'm already £70+ in debt to them for an account they've closed.
  • I just can't believe it- what about those with claims ongoing with the banks who are NOT involved in the court case?

And so much has been said as to when it will be all sorted out. Some say september this year, while others say 1 -2 years away.

    What is going on!!??
