OFT and Banks to decide on "fair charge"

Hi i don't know if supposed to post this on here apologies in advance if i have posted on the wrong thread.
I am reclaiming bank charges from Barclays i had a letter about 4 weeks ago saying thet would be in touch within four weeks and now i've had one saying they will be in touch by the 22nd august? i don't really know what to do?0 -
I've had a claim of £467 with cahoot, they offerd to settle 65%(£303) on 11th of June, did not bother responding.
I have just called the head office and asked if that offer was still valid, as it is still under 8 weeks old they have said yes. I'm gonna roll over and take it. In all fairness I just want rid of this account and once they settle I can close it down once and for all.
Hope this info is helpful to anyone in similar situation

Oh no looks like I am too late to reclaim any charges. I am panicing shall I send the letters anyway.:eek:0

I've heard the news about how the OFT test case will now put peoples claims on hold.
I was just about to send off the first letter, the DPA to get a list of charges for my account going back 6 years
As far as i can see this should still be carried out as it is not yet a claim but a dpa request?
Will they still have 40 days to provide the info?0 -
Unfortunately Gemma, like many, it looks like our timing is all wrong. Whilst this case is being heard in the high court, we can but only go through the procedure to ascertain the level of charges, but will not be compensated until there is a ruling. Go through the motions, but as they are not going to rush this through, dont hold your breathe for any reclaim for a while.0

Hi All
If this has already been answered then i apologise for having a blonde moment, what does this mean , i have recieved my statements from 1 account and am waiting for statements from the other, will i still get my statements? or will everything now stop until this ruling has reached a conclusion?
I am just cross with my self for not doing it sooner now, knowing my luck i wont get anything now, sorry for the pessimisum.
Is it still worth going ahead?
yes, as the statements are given under the DPA.
However, i dont know waht you will do with them once you recieve them! Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
When i recieve all of my statements then is there any point in doing the next stages or do i have to wait?0

Hello.
Well we all know this is annoying but don't beat yourself up about this. Try not to keep thinking about 'what if i had done this sooner'. Hindsight is a wonderfull thing but,i know,i do not have this gift. This will drag on and i have a sneaky feeling the courts will find in favour of the banks. I really hope not but there is nothing i can do about this at the moment.
Dont get me wrong i was 9 days away from finding out if they were going to settle(Nat west)my charges. Over £1000 for me but 'Ce la Vie' i am not going to beat myself up about this as i can look back and see other instances of if i had done these lottery numbers etc things would be different. I made my claim and the timing was wrong:rolleyes: .
Lets wait and see the outcome and go from there.
Hope you can all have a good day and 'chin up'. I am trying to.

Yup same here- but i am gutted, had about £1700 potentially coming to me- invaluable when your trying to buy a house... of course having known about this for ages its my fault i kleft it so late but was worried they'd close my account and leave me in £1700 debt (conveinient how my overdraft matches but accumulated charges debt)0
