My point is that they've deliberately taken an overseas model and rebranded it, it's not been for sale anywhere else in the UK so there is no comparison.0

Moot point though really as the answer to your question is still 'fiendishly clever'. Could also be described as sly, sneaky or misleading, but definitely not 'scam'0 -
The next one to come up on their 'deal' is a Brother FS60. This is a copy of a Canadian CP6500, a model from around 2011, with the pink writing changed to blue. In Canada they retail at $194, £124 here, yet before the offer starts they are priced at £249.0

Same answer as above.0

Ok, so comparing Singer sewing machines which use the same product code worldwide a machine priced at $599 (£382) in the USA is £399 in the UK, so not really seeing the justification for the 50% difference on the FS60 I was talking about.0

I think you get the gist of what I've been saying. What they're doing is not illegal but if you think it is, there is nothing stopping you contacting Trading Standards or even the media. The media love to give big companies like Amazon a good grilling. That'll learn 'em!0

Hmm, so you're admitting the RRP is a made-up number but saying that advertising a 55% reduction from a price that by your own admission is made-up, ISN'T a scam.
Interesting.
Still waiting for an answer to this :rotfl:
(PS - don't worry, I know you haven't got an answer & just aren't big enough to admit it).0 -

How can you come to that conclusion without knowing what the wholesale prices the different divisions of Amazon paid?0 -

So you obviously think they are still 'scamming' with their current offer of 35% off?0 -
You're saying Amazon are advertising a sale using a made-up number (your words) & simultaneously trying to claim it's not a scam
Even you know your argument is nonsense, you just can't bear to admit it.0
