Yes that's correct, it's still listed under "Missed Deals".

I still don't see your point. It obviously was cheaper than normal as we can all see now because the price has gone up. I don't really see your point the £44.99 price. Firstly we're talking about 50p and secondly the £44.99 may never well be repeated, how would anyone know? If I wanted that item I would have bought it as I'd have no way of knowing what the price will be in the future, it may never be at £44.99 again so I would have bought it at todays price.

LOL! I didn't realise we were disagreeing over a price difference of just 50p!!

Sigh. Really don't need "proof" that something which is actually more expensive than it was a week ago being advertised as 55% off is a scam.

But feel free to try to argue otherwise until you're blue in the face :)

Maybe last week it was advertised as being 60% off.

Funnily enough, at the £44.99 price it would have still been advertised last week at 55% off (55.01% to be exact)!!!

Makes this thread all the more laughable!

The thing is what the op wants is just moving into classic cutting off your nose to spite your face territory. If companies have to get staff to check the previous price of items to find the lowest ever times this over hundreds of thousands of products like Amazon sells then this will amount to a large amount of extra labor. Labor costs money, prices will end up going up to cover this so how on earth is that ever a win for the consumer?

Lol. And back to reality where in case anyone's forgotten, Amazon are advertising goods that are actually more expensive than they were a week ago, as on sale by 55%.

But keep giving me a good laugh trying to portray it as anything else :)

They were on sale at 55% off RRP last week and again at 55% off RRP this morning, which are both better than the current deal of 35% off RRP. Nowhere have they claimed it was 55% off last weeks price - they haven't claimed it to be any cheaper than last week in fact. So where is the problem exactly? Is your view that they are still scamming because they are claiming it's currently 35% off (the RRP)?
  • On the same subject, but a different item, I was looking at a sewing machine this morning on Amazon's Black Friday deal, a 'Brother FS100WT' This item is currently at £399, but was reduced to £235 this morning. I wanted to check if it was a good price to tried to find a comparison online, but googling the code FS100 only returns amazon results or sites which themselves link to amazon. Using uk.camelcamelcamel only showed that the product was added to amazon 2 weeks previously at £399. A Google image search reveals this machine to be a minor upgrade (additional 10 stitches) to a Brother SC9500, which retails in the US for between $87 and $199 or £127. So to summarise, take a £127 machine, upgrade to a £140 machine, put on amazon at £400 for 2 weeks then reduce to £235 for a quick £95 bonus profit per sale. Anything illegal here or just fiendishly clever?

Why are you comparing with prices in the US for starters? Prices are always comparatively cheaper in the US than in the UK. And then you're comparing it to a cheaper model. Go and do your comparison with the exact same model and with other UK prices and then come back with the updated figures.

However, either way the answer to your question will be 'fiendishly clever'.
