Hi Ruth! So, yet another overlocker busting to get to grips with one, a good job Mummy bought one then. :happylove All the best with your new job...saving with it on monthly salaries too. I'm sure you'll find a way to save well. Thanks for the hugs for my DH, he's feeling a lot better today, limping yes, but not half as much pain!!

Oh i'm so glad he's feeling a great deal better :) I know you'll make sure he doesn't over do it. Don't want it getting bad again!

Ooooooooooooo i'm so in love with my overlocker!! so very very easy to use and so quick! I am now no longer taking over the house with material, i'm taking over the house with bags and crayon rolls :rotfl: even DH grumped 'they are much better seams' after inspecting my first bag.

I am now going to make a microwaveable heat wrap for [STRIKE]misery[/STRIKE] uh . . . I mean my darlingest DH to go round his ankles, as the winter is definitely on its way and his arthritis is playing up something horrid again. He has had the shop bought ones but they are one big bag of rice and as soon as you put it on his ankle all the rice falls down the side meaning none of the heat actually gets to where he needs it , but I have a plan! and im just hoping it works :D

For the heatwrap could you sew channels in the rectangle so that it can't sink to the bottom?

There is so much i want to make at the moment but with no idea how to make it lol. Would you like to adopt me, just for a few months so you can teach me all you know :A:A

Thanks Sue for that link, very interesting :)
I tried an overlocker out at the Knitting & Stitching show yesterday, I think I'm going to go for it!
Jakes-mum, can I ask what kind of things you'll be making with yours? I'm thinking clothes but it must have more uses?
Oops - on topic - I potted some change when I got home, my pot is half full, I wonder how much I'll have in it? :D

Try searching the net for free overlocking patterns. I have found some good sites. I found some great quite cheap jersey so i've ordered a bit to test the quality before i go crazy lol

My sister gave me £100 extra towards a loan (£100 more than normal not £100 on top lol) and my mum paid me £7 back for a book i got her. She also paid for mine and the OH's christmas dinners so i'm going to put it all into my holding pot which is currently at about £300.

The good news is the money for my phone won't come out until the middle of November so i won't need to break into my pot early woop woop!!

24 Days until Count-Up Day!! (I don't think it's too early to start counting yet is it?)

Hi all you lovely potters, can I ask if you all restart in November once your pennies are counted or do you start in the new year. I have just found thread and it looks a fab way to save for extras x

    Hiya

I usually start immediately after counting the pottings from the current year :D. I won't be starting until the 9 November this time though as I am going on holiday on the 6th. I will post anything that I bring back but I can't imagine it will be much!!

    Hope that helps

    £4.90 potted today.

  • Hi,
Just popping on to say I had to open my shrapnel tin up, counted it and have £111 bagged up to bank tomorrow so have added that to my banked total. My next tin has a healthy £30ish in change to start it off.
