Hello everyone, haven't posted for aaaaages but I'm here now. I live in the NW and have been affected by the cryptospiridium outbreak so I have just had my compensation payment of £55. That will be banked and then the cash will go straight into my pot. I also had an appointment at my optician today. A few weeks ago I got my first varifocals but I have really struggled to wear them. So much so that I was getting headaches and really struggling to read and look at my pc. Anyway, in desperation I went back today for a re-test and I don't need the varifocals. My opticians are brilliant and are going to get single vision lenses made and will refund me for the difference I have paid. That could be quite a sum, so again I'll put it into my pot.

It has been so long that I haven't caught up on all of your lovely posts but well done everyone for carrying on potting your spare money.

    Take care!

    Morning

    I'm back.

I went to Greece Helen. The weather was lovely except for yesterday when I think they had a months worth of rain in 3 hours. I hope whatever scared you isn't anymore x

Well done on being debt free Emily :D

Glad your daughter is recovering after being knocked over Sue. I remember when i was much younger, I was running along with my new puppy and he ran across my path and sent me flying. I had a black eye for weeks!!

I would love to go to Dubai Vicky. I hope you have the best time :D

I will be back later with some potting news. I bought back €120 so I will change that back and pot the change.

Only 7.5 weeks until opening day :D

Hello again all SPCers! It's so good to see you all saving so wonderfully well, and I know darn well you'll continue to with even greater fervour as D Day approaches! Keep going everyone and...may your pots end up as full as is possible!! I hope you are all well, for those who aren't or who are feeling under the weather here are special {{{Hugs}}} in the hope that you'll be feeling much better soon, or that life gets a whole lot better for you.

Emily, I hope now that things really start to turn round and come better for you and the whole family, and that your DH finds a job which is far more permanent and that he's happy in. You've both had a rough trot over the last years - but IF things always went easy - we wouldn't appreciate the good times quite as much. At least, that's the way I view life. Yes, maybe you have had someone above who knows the difficulties you've endured and knew a spell of good fortune would be just the ticket for you! ;)

Well, at least you know for sure about your DS, jakes-mum, though what a shame they can't be honest and own up straight away. Our lad was just the same with owning up when he was that age. Yours was certainly a crafty one!

    hi gang..
sadly i needed a new bed.. so had to dip into my pot.. for £320 dont worry it was resealed and theres still plenty in it atm

Not to worry, mcjordi, a bed is vital so I can understand your need. Well done with what you've saved so far, a really great amount!!! PS. Don't forget to pop the amount spent on your siggy so you can declare it all on the 5th.

I'm so happy you had such a great time at the festival, Dragon Lily, no doubt it did you a power of good too! Back to the saving grindstone now! :D

Well saved, Westie, you're doing well!

I've bought my flight to Dubai using the money I earned over the summer - hence my absence from MSE. Definitely worth it as I get to see my best friend. :j :j She's as excited as I am - only got to wait until February. :rotfl:

WOW, what a way to make winter go faster for you eh, Vicky!!! We all spend most of winter looking forward but not quite in the same way you will this year! Have a terrific time and do let us know when you're off.

Let's hope your PS4 dreams get to come true, DeafLeopard, keep saving hard and they could do. :j

Good to see you, owlet, it's just great to hear you're saving so well!

Great saving, Anna!! Keep it up as you must be doing so very well.

I'm so delighted you all managed to get to Disneyworld, mossy, it must have been incredible for a holiday. :D I'm so chuffed to hear about your DD and can so imagine the pleasure she gets on her new-found independence as well as her new school. It used be a dreaded time of year, but it's great to see kids actually looking forward to it. All the best for your 2nd year at Uni!

    Great pottings...Chutney!!! :rotfl:

Good for you with the banking, Kerry, and thanks for popping it on your signature. Things are running better now thanks, and yes, our DD's ankle is much better now, thanks Kerry, you're such a sweetie. Xx :A

It's so good to see you safely back, chickadee, healthy too from the sound of things. I hope you weren't too badly affected by the bacteria, but £55 will certainly have made it a LOT better!

7.5 weeks eh 32b3?!! That'll fly by so quickly now! It sounds like you had a fantastic time in Greece and I'm so pleased the weather was kind to you...apart from the rain! Yes, DD is much better now thanks, though it's amazing how easily dogs can send us flying, bless em! 120 Euros brought back must be good, your pot'll be chuffed, FAT too! :rotfl:

Good potting, KONG, lovely to see you back with us too!

£15 in the pot and 2p in the roadkill pot too!

BTW Some of you asked me to update you re our DD's MS problems: She had an appointment with her Neurologist on Tuesday and they've agreed she will now try out Copaxone, an "inject yourself once a week" drug, finally she's agreed to trying it!!!! He's said she's welcome at any time to go on to the more powerful (though frightening) ones if she wishes, to be honest I think he's been marvellous with her. Fingers crossed she will benefit from the new ones!

Have a REALLY LOVELY WEEKEND, folks, and enjoy yourselves!

    Sue x

NB: SPC Savers: 5th November will be the new 2015 opening date!

Anyone wishing to join us, it's NEVER too late, so please just ask, you're more than welcome.

  • Hi Sue and friends!

I've been lovingly chastised by my dear friend Westie to resume my sealed pot so here I am!!

I did really well last year but this year got started and then just kind of well.......stopped!

I think the thing was I got waylaid on the diaries instead of challenges. I've still got a love of the diaries but want to get back into the fun of the challenges too!

So here I am, still a bit of time until pot-opening time in November, then I can start afresh after that and no-one will be any the wiser....(Will they??)
