Ah, thank you for your kind words Sue. Still in shock to be honest with you. It has been very tough over the last few years not only with our debt but also other family issues. I am not really a religious person but I do think that we have been sent a gift from above :A. Hubby was made redundant, again, In July so it has come when we need it the most!!
Am feeling VERY fortunate.

Congratulations E4rub :j:jPoor you, jakes-mum, I was so very sad to hear your DS has again taken money from your pot, and what an amount too!! I know how bitterly disappointed you were last year and you must be doubly so the 2nd time around. It must be so very hard for you and DH as you're then torn between what to do in the future. However, as leaving SPC really isn't an option  (such talk!) as we just can't allow that! Each of us plays a part in cementing our SPC family and you've been here just about as long as I have, so NO, we can't allow that!!
My DH agrees with you and reckons either having a metal box and securing it, or building a wooden one and securely fixing it to the wall is about all you can do to stop him taking from you again. Punishments are difficult as sometimes they then feel "hard done by" (rich but) and it makes them rebel more! Given his age, why not agree he needs to get a part time job and repay you before actually earning for himself? To my mind, that way they get more chance to reflect on what they've done and to realise just how much they've hurt you as it'll take a while until the "debt" is repaid. I bet talk of involving the Police really shook him to realise the enormity of it all. Don't give up on him though, he'll no doubt be a totally different lad when he's older and wonder however he could have acted in such a way.
Special {{{hugs}}} to you
Well thankfully DS has now finally admitted it was him. He told my mum first when he went to see her and i've just had a long talk with him about it and its gone from the £10 he told my mum about to pretty much taking a few coins every few days for the whole holidays. He still said he didn't think it was as much as I was saying until I pointed out that 3 x £2 coins is £6, if you do that 10 times its £60, half the school holidays would be 20 times at £120. I think he was quite shocked at how much he may have taken.
He did just tell me that there was 3 x £2 coins under my electric recliner! It seems that is where he had been hiding them when he took them. I couldn't stop myself laughing at his ingenuity as I would have ripped his bedroom apart to look for them but never in a million years would I have thought to look for them stashed under my own chairIf only he would apply this kind of thinking to his school work
On the upside I can now put it behind me as the not knowing if I was right or if one of his mates had taken it was eating me up. So do not fear my potty friends, I shall still be here next year but with a much better, non tamperable pot
Re his eye, weirdly it swelled up yesterday evening which I think might have been because the farmers are cutting the fields at the minute, we tend to put a cold compress (AKA a wet piece of tissue to you and me!) on it until the swelling subsides.
So after that extremely long monologue, 3 x £2 coins returning to the tin and 2 x £2 coins from my purse with a bit of shrapnel.SPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £225/£10000 -
glad your DS finally admitted his guilt and hopefully he has realised how quickly it soon adds up, will this mean he will start to pot away his own pennies....

Hi Everyone
I've not been on for a while but still potting. Just back from a lovely music festival in Dorset and sleeping in a tent for 3 nights! Just cleared out my purse from the weekend and have potted £4.50 - £2.00 of that was from road kill found in the grass at the festival!:D
I've not read all the posts but hope everyone who has had a rough time lately are ok and things are picking up now - ((hugs)) to all who needs one.

Ahh Westie, he will never be a saver, that one was born with holes in his pockets :rotfl: his eye is coming down but still a bit sore, he's been round his mate's dog as well and we always wondered if it might be animal hair, but it only seems to come up around male dogs, never swells when he goes round his mate's with a female dog
30p in the pot today after a mad dash to the chip shop as I forgot to put the wedges on'twas not my fault I tell you, was DH! He had me making remote minders for his chair and distracted me from cooking!

Evening everyone :hello:
Another £1.50 potted!
And in other news, I've bought my flight to Dubai using the money I earned over the summer - hence my absence from MSE. Definitely worth it as I get to see my best friend. :j :j She's as excited as I am - only got to wait until February. :rotfl:Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0
