Nothing potted today, am talking to DH about whether I will continue with the challenge next year as my thief has helped themselves again and i'm so upset as just like last year it really ruins count up day for me (one of the very few days of the year I really look forward too) as last year I was like 'yay, i've saved x amount of money BUT it should have been y amount' and I am feeling a bit like, whats the point if its not fun :(

Ahh ty ladies, sadly 32b3 its my son :( he's taken about £30 in £2 coins out of the tin, yet again is denying it vehemently but DH caught him messing around where I had hidden them :(

Seems he didn't ModestyB :( i'm so very hurt by it, I currently can't even look at him let alone speak to him.

On a slightly more positive note, Dh just gave me a £2 coin :o he does try to make me feel better bless him

Don't you go anywhere Mrs!!!! We all love you too much to see you gone!!! Could you or the OH make some form of lockable box to keep your sealed pots in. I know you shouldn't have to in your own home but it's better than giving up! Think of the thrill of finding roadkill or your wonderful OH slipping you the odd £2.

Oh dear Jakes-Mum. Has he got something you could sell to make your money bacK? What a difficult situation :(

    £1.02 potted today for me.

    32b3

I'm with 32b3. Sell his phone or playstation or a game or two.. Whatever he has. If he isn't going to respect your things then why should you (given that you probably paid for most of it!).

When my brother stole money from my mums purse and continued to do it she called the police!! He never did it again!! You may think that sounds harsh but the lesson is do whatever works.

Do you know what he would want that kind of money for?

Sue, this is your thread, are you allowed to ban people from leaving? :rotfl::rotfl:

Don't think I'll be potting much for a bit. DH had a heart attack this morning. We're so lucky we have our :A DD :A, she came as soon as I called her and rushed us to the hospital.
Last time I called for an ambulance it took over half an hour to reach us.
DH is comfy for the moment.

    Hugs to all.

Oh ModestyB, big hugs to you (and very gentle hugs for your DH) I hope he's ok :(

Ahh Crimson, its always nice to be wanted :D i'm currently talking to Dh about the posibility of making a tamperproof pot out of wood and screwing the darn thing to a shelf so you cant pick it up to turn it over. Sadly it seems I have grossly underestimated how much was stolen :( I was actually holding £60 of sons money from things he had sold on fleabay, changed it into £2 coins and put the whole lot in and it is still no-where near where it should be! We are now estimating about £150 being missing :(:( so very angry with him and he's still denying it but looked slightly worried when I mentioned the police and having the tin fingerprinted (as only mine and DH's fingerprints should be on it) was trying to tell me I once asked him to pot money for me so thats why his prints would be on it.
It now also makes me worry that I grossly underestimated the last time he helped himself :(

Anyway, £60 in £2 coins back in the tin, sadly there was no joy potting that money :(

Gosh - soo sorry to hear that. Sending get well vibes and lots of ((hugs)) for you and yours. Hope he's soon home.

Jake's mum - I'm sad for you that this had happened again and pleased to hear you are taking steps to prevent this. We really don't want you leaving us - who would look after the naughty step for us :) Seriously, I am wondering why he is taking your money ?? Do you know what he is spending it on ??

Being as I am going away in two weeks I have had a count-up and banked some more of my potting. I really don't want to leave much cash in the house whilst I'm away. I have updated my siggie to show this ;)

Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday

Jakes-Mum...I'm with everyone else....Please please don't leave, this Place would definitely NOT be the same without you!! I also agree, does he have anything else that you could sell? When I was younger my Mum knew that the way to hurt me was to ground me from going out as I took so much pleasure from seeing my Friends....what is HIS pleasure? What will hurt him if you took it away...? This must be so hard for you...hang on in there hun xXx

Something weird has happened to my eye and it's now all puffy and weird looking....and blurry....Hoping it's just a bit of hayfever....will see how it goes today!!

Managed to Pot 30p yesterday....It's slim pickings this Week....but I'll get there.... xXx :)

Thanks everyone. DH was moved into the heart and lung ward last night which, according to DD, is like an hotel.

Hope your eye is ok Helen.

    Hugs to all.

Ahh ty Lynne, we have no idea what he's spent it on, we've been through all the horror thoughts and are sure its not any of them. My mum wonders if he's been taking a handful each day as I haven't checked it for a week+ I didn't notice, and has been spending it down the town on his mates. As she said 3 kids, 3 drinks, 3 lots of sweets a bus ticket if they go somewhere soon mounts up to £15/£20 :( still very angry with him, said to DH, not sure I can forgive him when he refuses to own up to it :(

Ahh I wish I knew Helen, we've tried everything and nothing phases him, doesn't care if hes grounded, without tv, without xbox, no ipad, no football training, no school trips, even no family holidays! he's a rubber ball, squash him flat and he'll pop right back up as if nothing has happened.

DH has an idea for a metal tamperproof tin with some sort of mechanism inside so you cant turn it over and get the coins out (I don't understand it, he's the mechanical one, I just tell him what I want :rotfl:)

Has your actual eye swollen up and gone jelly like (only way I can describe it) as if it has it might be an allergic reaction, DS has had that on and off for years, many trips to the hospital in a panic for them to give him antihistamines when he was a baby, still no clue what he's allergic too, but it swells to twice the size and looks horrible.

Glad your DH is in a nice ward ModestyB, if your going to be in hospital you might as well have a hotel experience, ask him if he's had an candy strippers come round and see him :D

no pennies today as I paid with my card, might have a few pence floating round in my purse will have a check later on.
