Morning to all Potters! I hope you're all having a good week, if not then I hope it gets better from here on and you have a really lovely weekend.
Take care please, everyone, and love and {{{hugs}}} to all those who are poorly or who aren't on top of their game right now, I hope it won't be long before you are.
Very well done with the weight, Dragon Lily, remember whenever tempted...look at your pot...the only excess pounds you want are in THERE!!! :j
25p is good, Vicky, and 23p closer to your next £1!!!!!
Brilliant work with the swimming, Helen, with the saving too!
Great work with the £10 voucher, scotmumof3, what an excellent cause too!!
15p is good, jennypennysaver, so keep it up as the actress said.......!
Awwww that was so wonderful of your dear Dad, Pollygarter, such a thoughtful deed. :kisses3:Good luck with the kids taxi fees now!crimson.addict wrote:1st Paragraph - We are such a caring group of women (with a wonderful sprinkling of men). I don't believe there is anyone active on this SPC thread that would not try to help if any complete stranger sent them a message asking. I have never known such caring people. I wish there was a way we could all teleport to the same location for a cup of tea and cake!
I couldn't agree more, Ruth, and wouldn't that last bit be wonderful!! You do make me laugh at times re the car, thanks for that and I hope you'll have got your £2.50 by now. Good news about the paying up. Such lovely shots of your little ones too!Miami wrote:So I've been away from this thread and have been neglecting my poor pot :embarasse Unfortunately I've been having troubles emotionally and have been signed off work, but the last three months generally I've had zero motivation to do anything and have been spending far more than I normally do; I've noticed that I splash the cash unnecessarily on my down days -- will make sure I tell my therapist (when I finally get treatment -- my GP referred me in March and all I've had so far is an assessment appointment
)
I'm so sorry to hear you're having a rough time at present, Miami, I do hope it's only temporary and you'll soon be feeling a LOT better! Re spending when you're low, I think a lot of us are inclined to do that to give us a little boost, the trouble is it doesn't last long and leaves us shorter than we already were. Be sure to look at any prospective buy and question whether you want or need it - if it's the latter that's ok, if it's the former, leave it there and be proud of your level-headedness!! :j Try and get as much exercise as possible to release the endorphins that always make us feel better. :kisses3:We're all rooting for you so always be aware of that!!!! Packed lunches and your own drinks will save a LOT.
I'm so pleased I'm not alone when seeing anyone using the cash machines, Modesty, we'll cuff em round the ears and send em this way - yes? Oh, ok no it is.
I understand you, Lynsey, as I know you never set out to go great guns this year, but knowing you, you really can't help yourself so I can't help but hope for the best for you. We'll see what happens!
Great saving, Kerry!
Thank you so much, Lynne, I'm a little sad as, at the moment, she's chosen not to have any treatment, we'll all remain hopeful she will change her mind though but I understand her fears of the problems that can arise if she does have any. Life was never meant to be easy.
Bless you for your very thoughtful post, 32b3, you really are so kind and considerate to all of us here, but then we really are just like family to each other...always there for each other. :kisses3: I echo your words completely, so please everyone - if you ever need an ear - use us! That's what families are for. What is said to us stays with us, that's a promise!!
You're doing so well, Pollygarter, stay potting always!keza wrote:I think my number dropped off last year as I didn't report back in December (mainly as I had to smash my pot long before the deadline )
You rascal you, keza! Still, as with all families, you're welcomed back to the fold with open arms and a huge hug. Your new No is 120. So, have you had baby No 2 yet?? Welcome home!! :j
I saw you sneak in, Emily, you blighter you. Welcome back and it's good to see you though I guessed you'd show eventually.
Well done with your DH, JoJo, he'll be a great bonus to you.
Another £10er in the pot and 10p roadkill!!
Terrific saving, EVERYONE, keep it going and you'll be so chuffed in November! :jHave a great Thursday, Potters! Keep filling those pots! :j

You're welcome, credit where credit is due and an amazing achievement. You've actually spurred me on to hit my "target" by next weekend. Last year, I was quite an aggressive saver (for my level), but relaxed this year. BUT, I'll be more aggressive for at least a week. :rotfl:
Not everyone is able to reach those sort of heights, but, try and over-exceed, no matter what your level is. Good luck all.
Thanks Lynsey. You did so amazing last year! I think it's important to know your limits in regard to saving. If you forced yourself to save that much every year you would soon give up on the challenge and it wouldn't be fun any more. BUT, you now know that should you ever need to you are capable of saving that much. At the same time i hope that noone is ever put off by the huge amounts some people save. Any amount should be considered an achievement.I couldn't agree more, Ruth, and wouldn't that last bit be wonderful!! You do make me laugh at times re the car, thanks for that and I hope you'll have got your £2.50 by now. Good news about the paying up. Such lovely shots of your little ones too!
I'm sorry to hear about your daughter. Like you said though she has to make up her own mind. When she's ready she'll know she has her family waiting to support her decision.
I DID IT!!! FINALLY OVER THE 1K MARK £1000.11 SAVED!!
So happy, i never actually thought i'd reach this amount especially before finishing off paying my CC. I have though and i'm so proud of myself!! Roll on the next £100Sealed Pot Challenge member #071 VSP #4

Had to start a new tin today as couldn't fit anymore in the old one. Felt like im missing an arm these last 2 days as DD went on her first residential trip, so mummy hasn't slept properly for 48 hrs but DD had a fabulous time and couldn't have cared less that I wasn't there :rotfl:
Still potting away quietly, no spending today though so nothing to christen the new pot with
don't like having an empty pot, wonder if I can get the kids to donate some of their coppers to me . . check down the sofa or the bottom of your handbag, I'm sure you will find a rogue copper to add, the pot needs feeding, just like a purse it needs a coin :-)I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Banking & Borrowing, and Reduce Debt & Boost Income boards.
