Thanks for my number 481. Sue-Uu. I have put a few quid in pot. Showed my parents when they came over for Sunday lunch and I saw my lovely old dad rolling up a note (don't know what colour!) And popping it in the pot. Going towards the holiday I am planning with the kids. Have asked the kids if they will put in a few coins (non brown coloured) whenever they get a taxi service off me. See if they do!

Been a rough Week both Potting-wise and emotionally...Lots of stuff going on right now and finding it difficult to keep everything in that metaphorical box....but I'll get there :)

If you need a chat Helen I'm only a PM away, make sure you remember that miss!!

Good luck with your car costs, Ruth, pricey blighters for sure, but where would we be without them!

Thankfully Sue, the owners of the garage I go to are friends with my pops so they don't rush to send me a bill and don't mind if I don't rush to pay them. Well done on the roadkill. Even I've been finding a fair bit recently!!

Finally got my total up to date (i use 3 counting pots because not knowing what in in my pots would drive me crazy and I'd either break in and count them or not be motivated at all to pot). I need £2.16 to get to the £1000 mark  When i told this fact to my wonderful OH he said I'm almost tempted to give you that much myself......... then walked off, not giving me the money :rotfl: I have clearly not got him trained. Still I'll get there soon enough. Not today though as I have brought my breakfast (greek yoghurt with granola and honey), my lunch (leftover pasta) and a snack (home made cookies I made to cheer up my OH) into work with me so I don't need to spend any money today!!

Potted £2.05 over the weekend. Got 1p roadkill in my pocket. Just need to remember to pot that. Poor penny has been in my coat for a week now.

Petty cash at work had a shiny £2 coin so I have "borrowed" it and will replace when I get change. Will pot it later.

Have a good day all :)

    Hello all :)

So I've been away from this thread and have been neglecting my poor pot :embarasse Unfortunately I've been having troubles emotionally and have been signed off work, but the last three months generally I've had zero motivation to do anything and have been spending far more than I normally do; I've noticed that I splash the cash unnecessarily on my down days -- will make sure I tell my therapist (when I finally get treatment -- my GP referred me in March and all I've had so far is an assessment appointment :()

It doesn't help either that the money that mainly goes into my pot comes from bus fares to work and drink/dinner change, which I don't have quite so much because I'm not in work at the moment. I did try to carry cash last week in the hope of potting change but ended up losing a total of £52 over the week

However payday is on Friday so that's going to be my fresh start money-wise. I'm going to get back on track :D

    Still Potting! Still Potty!

Hugs Miami, I hope your life gets back on track soon.

Welcome new potters, you'll enjoy being on this thread and soon find out how addictive saving can be.

I saw a woman the other day pouring loads of coins into one of those change machines! I nearly told her off but resisted the temptation. I reckon it's the sound of the money going into the machine that turns people on, all of us potters know it's the coins going into our pots that's the best sound. Don't we! :D

    Hugs to all in need.

    Afternoon all.

    chickadee - enjoy your holiday.

Miami - best wishes and hope this chapter of your life, is a short one. Take care.

Sue - no promises of the "GRAND", but I'll evaluate at the end of July. If I'm above £700 by then, I'll probably "go for it".
I don't really need as much this year as, even now, I'm well on top of Xmas. But, I love the boost it gives at the end of the "Potting Year", when I weigh in the bags of coins at the Post Office. It really does feel like "free" money, even though it's mine anyway. Without saving though, it may have been spent!!

Changed my cashback into 5 x £1 coins and added another £1 coin and 2 x £2 coins to the pot = £10 added. Might be a decent week. lol

    Hiya everyone

Thank you Sue for the new shiny star :j Hope things going along ok for you atm and that decision is soon sorted and put into working towards improvements. You and yours are in my thoughts.

Potted £3 coins and some shrapnel as I paid for taxi home when DH took me out for dinner on Saturday. It was lovely to be out together - first time since our holidays due to his working hours.

Hope you all have a lovely week and if you see any warm sunshine please send some up here as still chilly :(

    Evening

A bit of a random statement I know but here goes....

Just wanted to say that there is always someone somewhere that will listen. I am sure that none of us on here would judge anyone for what's happened in their past or what's going on now or what might happen in the future. If anyone gets to the stage where there is nowhere to turn, then please turn in the direction of one of us. I saw a report of something at work today and I just wanted to say this. It's not directed at anyone, it's directed at everyone xx

Crimson-addict - my first instinct when I saw how close you were was how to get £2.61 to you today seeing as I have no idea who you are, or where you live or your bank details. lol. Come onnnn, how close is that £1000???

I have been to SW and put on all the weight I have lost in the past 6 weeks so I celebrated my achievement  with a kfc takeaway!!

I potted the 32p change though!!
