12p potted yesterday, every little helps right?!

Really looking forward to opening it in November and seeing how much i have saved. I am secretly hoping I'll have about £250 (but not setting a target).

    Afternoon all.

savings my hobby - welcome and good luck with your savings.

Lots of holidays being talked about, Cornwall, Dubai and the Algarve!
We normally go away between Feb / March, but decided against it this year as previous years to the Algarve have been quieter and quieter. Nothing booked apart from The Algarve later in the year (Oct), but will possibly look for a "deal" April / May. But it will have to be cheap!!
    Frugal living this year. lol

AlwaysHappy - where did you go in the Algarve?? And was it very quiet??
We are thinking Albufeira will be our last Algarve holiday for quite a while and are looking for different places for future holidays.

Been out for a cheap pub meal (under £7 lol) and potted the change - 3 x £1 coins.

Lynsey - we stay at Carvoeira, well, sesmarias to be honest which is just outside. We really like it there, but yes, it was quiet, that suits us though - I don't like hassle. I always feel like its going home - and I can't wait to get back. The problem I have is getting school holidays off work - just asked for more leave and been offered November or...... November! On a potting front £1.69 popped into the tin,

I would like to join, thanks. I'm a new member of MSE forum. I haven't got a saving goal as such but just wanted to start the saving habit again. Any money I save at the end of the year I will add to a saving account I have recently set up.

I have a sealed tin ready. Hope I'm not too late to join.

Gold stars go to, Lynsey :staradmin and to Helen :staradmin. Thank you girls. As you all know I only usually give one per the 1st welcome, but yours was so lovely, Helen, so there you go. One to you also thanks, Frogletina. :staradmin

Well done with frugal Feb too, Lynsey!, you'll soon be through it. Incidentally, our DD went to the Algarve and adored Albufeira.
You, Helen, look forward to a wonderful weekend with your DB and his family, it's been a long, long time since you last went. All the best with your health - every day and brilliant work with your savings!!! :j

    In fact...

I broke my pot open today :( I was worried about how much cash I had in my flat and I'm forking out for a car on Monday which is a little over my budget but such an incredibly good bargain that it is really worth dipping into my savings for.

I started my pot on November 11th so this is everything I've potted in 3 months, 2 weeks and 4 days. (Not included in the count: one Olympic 50p that shouldn't have been put in the pot in the first place (I collect them :D), one U.S. Dime and five European cents.)

    ... £245.25

I'm definitely buying a new pot tomorrow and continuing potting :j

A great shame you needed to open your pot, Miami, but I'm so pleased the cash you saved, and WHAT a great amount (!!!) came in so useful to you for a great purpose!! :T Ok then, I'm guessing you have a new pot now so onwards you go and save as well as you already have done! BTW, please don't forget to put the amount already saved on your siggy so you'll remember to include it on 5th November!

Aha! Say no more than the "looking forward to my hols on the 9th March" Lynne, as I'd be doing exactly that too if I had those close holiday dates in mind. Enjoy looking forward! ;)

Be happy with what you're saving, dreamingofmoney, but yes, as and when you can up it, do so and look ahead to the amount you had in mind. Work out the sum necessary each week/month to get you to your goal! Re the suggestion I made last week, you go for it and be happy!! :D

Darned sure I meant sleep, chasingthedream! Wherever your thoughts were - Heaven only knows, though you're right as THAT close t'would be a heck of a battle!

I'm delighted you hear you had such a lovely time in the Algarve, AlwaysHappy, sad but enjoyable and your dear Mum will be so happy for you.:)

Chuffed to bits for you in Dubai too, Vicky, I'm so pleased it wasn't too expensive for you.

Great saving, Seaotter you too Donna!

Ahhh, bless your Nephew, 32b3, he sounds a real love. :A A shame about the boxes, but the money may be best off in your pot.

Good for you with more sales, jakes-mum.

I do hope everything goes well with your DH's biopsy tomorrow, scotmumof3, I think men are quite naturally more nervous re hospital procedures, though when they're so good in all other ways I guess it's barely any wonder why. I'm also thinking of you too! ;)

Great stuff, Hope and you too, JoJo. You as well, Saver!

Have an enjoyable week, folks! :j Keep safe, healthy and......saving hard!

    Sue x
