Evening everyone, I hope everyone's as well as can be! For those who are poorly in any way, take care and here are {{{hugs}}} for you all to get well soon! Look after yourselves, SPCers and always look after your cash!
Hi Lynsey, and I reckon you're probably quite right and would barely taste the difference. Still, it's perfect as it is which is just great!I thought of you this morning when in L!dl as I was drawn to the chocolate section and all those bars of chocolate. Oh my giddy aunt gert did it almost have me drooling, :drool:but looking at all the blasted fat/calorie figures soon brought me back to reality.
Finally settled on a packet of T!wergate chocolate digestives and will spread them over the weekend (she says in good faith). By eck are they ever good too (weekend came quickly!:rotfl:) never worth buying M!Vities (I resisted those in M!sons last week!) for certain as they are exactly the same!!
Wow! Good potting for you, Anna!
Excellent work with all your selling and saving, the.new.me!!! A good move on the overdraft too, far better to do that than it just lie around doing nothing. My word you intend living up to your name. :j
Woooooohhaaaay Lynne, what a sensational find!!!!! A great idea to boost your holiday fund. It just goes to show a good sorting through our drawers could be quite an adventure!!!!I mean drawers too and NOT draws!
Thanks for the warm and fuzzy explanation, scotmumof3, sums it all up beautifully. Well done with the saving. I'm never quite sure about spag bol, but....! The soup sounds verrrry nice though!Westie983 wrote:When you said I have my first star to add to my signature what do o need to do to that and what does it give me (the purpose) sorry if its a dim question but I am blonde after all
There's no such thing as a dim question, Westie, only the one you don't ask!It all started some years ago when someone said I should be giving out gold stars for how good they were..rubbish....possibly jakes-mum. From then on I started giving them out to encourage folk to welcome new family members and encourage them to read through my first post on page 1, then I gave them out for acts of kindness and help to other members and that's it. Most members rather than clutter their siggies up with stars usually put :staradmin x 2, 3, 4 etc. So, you know what to do now...and have already started!! BTW, I only give them for the first welcome to each member.
Oooh, I don't see me ever having the courage to go to PMQs, 32b3, I might be tempted to holler at him!
More sales eh, Rosy! Well done and more food for the pot! :T
Oooh, not a nice op at all then, Seaotter, but pleased you're recovering. Don't overdo things...though you can pot all you like!
There's never any such thing as A paltry 60p, Hoipolloi, every little bit adds up so be happy, proud too!
Same to you, Frogletina!
Isn't that always the way with kiddies, Daddybear, we can't bear to see them want.
I hope you're soon feeling a whole lot better, Helen. Re Altenkirchen, it is quite romantic...except that my DH wasn't with me at the time. Our DD wanted me to go back there with her (she taught English at the school as part of her Uni education) as she was so homesick. Beautiful lake and woodland all around. The name means Old Church. Our DS & his Wife have been to Switzerland on the back from Italy and were so taken with it; they stayed the night at a hotel and swear they'll be going back. DH & I will hopefully get there.NobodysChild wrote:Potted roughly twenty pounds in the last week to ten days, from not going for a coffee as planned, and change from several five and ten pound notes. Lost track of what's in there now.
Marvellous work, NobodysChild, and far cheaper to go home and make your own!! :T Better in your pot than lining their pockets! It's good that you've now lost track of your savings, better the surprise now!Have a lovely evening, folks, and a happy Friday! :j Keep safe, healthy and keep saving hard!

Hi all,
Adding a whopping £98 to my pot, my parents had an endowment mature and gifted myself and my sisters a contribution of the payout.
Hope this is okay, quite excited seeing the balance increasing.

I see from recent posts people taking about £2.00 namely the WW2 coin these have now entered circulation and can be saved or spent as normal, I have three of these coins currently doing well on eBay....
Thanks for this Westie, I'll put mine up for DGS for the future.
28p yesterday and 46p today in the pot.
Lynne, that's a fabulous amount! Well done with giving up smoking and saving all that.
Welcome to our new potting friends. Enjoy saving.

DGS = dear grandson. DH is dear husband, DDIL is dear daughter in law etc. It is a bit confusing at first but quite easy to pick up. HTH. (hope that helps.)S.P.C. 9 2016 No. 062 Banked £337.50

you should go see a debate if you ever get the chance Sue. They are usually really interesting (they are also potentially the most boring thing EVER- believe me) but it's never dull watching the MPs playing up!!
