I went back to SW last week and tonight I went to get weighed and I have lost 5lb. 2 stone 2lb to get to goal :D

A golden Star for, 32b3 :staradmin, many thanks..and very well done on losing 5 lbs!!!! You're losing the right kind at least! All the best with the 30lb still to go. I added about 4 of the wrong type, but will soon work on them after I'm feeling better.

    Well saved, Anna!

Many thanks for the get well wishes, Modesty, Kerry and Lynne, I do hope this latest round of antibiotics and steroids does the trick. Fingers crossed. Glad to hear you enjoyed a good walk yesterday, Lynne, it makes such a difference to be able to get out and get the blood circulating.

I know your previous money was stolen last year, jakes-mum, I was only taking about the euros etc, maybe you'd be wise in taking Rosy's advice, we all forget things, especially as we get older, with pressures of life etc.
I haven't managed to take my savings from last year to the bank so I am starting again. I'll post what I have so far later when I count it all.

Please DeafLeopard, I'm not entirely sure what you mean, but please don't include any of the £15.17 Total already declared in what you count. PLEASE also pop your No 054 on your signature for me, it helps me so very much!!!

    A very sensible decision, JoJoC...

    .....you too, Chutney.

Cor, talk about onto an absolute winner, Nix, that's a fantastic amount - for you both!!!! :j

Thank you for the birthday wishes. It's been nice, all things considered, have been busy so that's been good. Have been thoroughly spoilt, so much so I am potting another £10 of my birthday money. :D

I'm so pleased, all things considered, that you had a reasonably good day yesterday, ETO, mostly, I'm delighted you managed to pot another £10!!! He'll have been watching over you! :A

Really cross but someone has slipped me an old £2 coin with some change and I hadnt noticed :mad::mad::mad: don't know if the bank will change it or not, knowing my luck not a chance!

How d'you mean "an old £2 coin", mumof3plusoh? :undecided I wasn't aware there were any out of date ones or am I being a bit slow or forgetful or could you be talking about a 2 shilling coin, the florin?? I'm so pleased you're back regularly potting and posting again as it's always good to see 'oldies' meant in the nicest possible way. We've bulbs coming up well too, spring's not far off!! :D
Also managed to Pot £6.70 this morning...so I'm absolutely thrilled with that....and I definitely do NOT need to go anywhere near my Pot (in terms of opening it)....I really feel that this Year will be my Year to be able to save a HUGE amount...and I'm already so looking forward to November to see how much I've managed to put in!!

Sue...I just wanted to say a HUGE Thank You to you....This Challenge has changed my Life....and also the way I save...AND it is so lovely to know that I have people here on this Thread that are supportive and lovely and cheer me up every day...So I just wanted to say a BIG Thank You.... :)

That's fantastic potting, Helen!!!! :j Be so very proud of yourself for what you've saved recently, you're really doing well. I'm delighted you're so happy that the SPC has transformed your life and savings, that's what I always hope for and I know that for many it's a Godsend...and you're on of them! ;) Stay positive, Helen, and focused and on cloudy days remember the words highlighted in red above; simple, but meaningful phrases can be a great source of inspiration - this is your year - grab it!!!! :D

Filled my first tin of this years challenge and can't stand the thought of just leaving it till November..........plus, I get interest if I bank it ;)

    A very healthy £144 banked
    :j:j

Flippin eck, Emily, you certainly sped through that tin FAST!!!! Great idea to bank it and earn yourself interest!! :D

What a stoke of good fortune, the.new.me!!!!!! I don't understand your friends, but maybe, unlike you, they've yet to appreciate the importance of savings. Personally, I'd have been as cockahoop as you so obviously are!!! :j

I sincerely hope you find your ring, Frogletina! However, once bitten twice shy and if you have others living in the same house as you and are even slightly wary of them - leave nothing valuable or sentimental out on display!!! Better than that, where possible lock them all away and get a lock put on your bedroom door! It may cost you to do so, but it could cost a whole lot more not to!!

Have a lovely your evening, SPCers, and a wonderful Thursday!!

    Sue x

SueUU - hope it's ok to link to it? I know a few sealed pot people used to do both. I'm a bit lonely in there by myself at the moment - it should have started over a month ago which may be putting people off :o

And if anyone knows how to turn that long link into something that says 'linky' I'd be grateful for the tutorial :o

All MSE links are ok on here, Nix, it's external ones that aren't allowed.

How to put a link in easily?

Get a word such as here and colour it so it stands out, make it larger too HERE.

Then highlight it (and keep it that way) whilst going to the line above the text area, (just above where you write your posts) clicking on the "Globe like piccy with what looks like a staple at the bottom" (below the black & white smilie face)
    .
You'll then get a "Please enter the URL of your link" dialogue appear.

Get shot of the message "http/:" bit, then right click and the address will go in and your link will he in the word that says HERE.

All being well, it's seeable and easily clickable to go to by anyone. :D Have a practice with the link in your post above, good luck and if I can do it anyone can!

Hi all, nothing to pot at the moment, but I have £10.27 in my grocery spends purse at the moment and hoping to be able to pot it on sunday as I don't think we'll need anything else from the shops. It is DH's birthday on Friday so will have to make him a cake from my store's. I best check I have icing sugar!

Thanks everyone for your concern over my ring. It wasn't very expensive but one I do like to wear from time to time.

I wasn't able to speak to my relative today as she was asleep most of the day and then I was out for a few hours and she went out during that time. I won't see her now until tomorrow but I will check her room before she returns just in case it's in there.

Any expensive jewellery (not that I have much) is hidden away and has been since I had a burglary at my previous address.

Ahh I totally read it as all my missing money! My bad :o

My short term memory is completely shot now (which is what leads to these situations :o) I have every intention of telling people of these fabulous ideas I have, but by the time they get home etc I've forgotten I've done it let alone where I've put things :rotfl: and if I wait for people to be with me when I do things I forget what I was planning to do, I even tried carrying a notepad round with me but I'd either forget to write in it or put it down and forget where I left it :rotfl: :rotfl: on the up side, it's never dull living with me :D

No change for me today :(
