First time my waters broke while in bed in the early hours of the morning. I went to hospital but nothing much happened for hours so they sent me home. I went back to hospital in the evening and my son was born in the early hours of the following morning.
I was induced with my daughter and she appeared two hours later - I almost had her in the hospital corridor between the ward and the delivery suite but I just about managed to get to the bed with a few minutes to spare.
I have a niece who was born in the back of a car and a colleague whose daughter was born in the back of an ambulance in the Chobham Co-op car park.0 -

With my first I sprung a leak on my way out to the car. I was about to go shopping (bored!) - it wasn't much of a leak so after being checked I was sent home. Nothing happened of its own accord so they induced me the next day.
With my second I was all over the place, contractions but irregular - they blamed it on a water infection. My waters never went with her, but in the early hours it all got a bit much so we went in and just as well, she arrived less than 20 min after we got there, still with her membranes intact!Bossymoo

At a hotel in London where we were staying overnight on DH's Xmas do.
We'd been to the theatre, had dinner & went to bed around 11pm. I woke up around 4am, we called for an ambulance around 5.30am, got taken to the hospital after checking they would take me & I gave birth at 8.10am.
I was a week early but had luckily taken my hospital bag with us 'just in case'.
The hotel sent champagne & flowers to the hospital and DH's colleagues were gobsmacked :-)0 -
Went to hospital at 7pm and been sent back, 1cm dialeted. Had a Mc Donald's, came back home at 9pm and my waters broke straight after. An ambulance took me back to the hospital at 0.30am and my son was born ( with forceps) 4.45am.0

At home, I then walked round sainsburys having mild contractions and was still in labour hours later. Hospital let me stay in about 14 hours after it started.0

My waters went on the loo whilst I'm hospital (borderline high blood pressure/headaches and was almost 2 weeks overdue). Plan was to induce me the next morning, but by then I'd reached 2cm. Asked if I could go home to relax. Was allowed, contractions started a couple of hours after getting home.Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500
