Both times at home.
1st time we made it to the hospital with 3 hours to spare.
2nd time we didn't get there in time and I delivered DD myself as OH kept driving. He later told me he thought I was being hysterical woman in labour when I told him I could feel the top of her head. Guess who got the job of cleaning up the car?Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

Waters broke 3am (I was in bed) with son1. (With a pop!) Went to hospital 6am. They tried to get me to go home until 10.30. Then they examined me, changed their minds about sending me home, and son was born within an hour. :-/
1st contraction with son2 was 3.40pm, at home in the living room. Waters broke at 5.50 and by 6pm he had been born on my bedroom floor.0 -
With my first she was 8 days late we had friends over that evening who were childless and watching me like I might burst lol. Went to bed at midnight and as I was getting into bed felt a massive kick followed by contractions starting. Mind you she wasn't born for another 18 looooong hours and my waters were broken at hospital by the midwife when I was pushing in the birthing pool.
My second was 9 days late. I had actually managed to fall asleep that time and woke up having contractions about 2am... Called mum to watch our toddler and called the midwives expecting to be told to wait it out and was surprised when they said to come over soon. By the time I had sorted out at home and got there it was 4 am, still no waters breaking. Hopped in the birthing pool and they went with a real pop in the water! He was born at 430 am so much quicker!
So I've never had my waters break when I could see it or was wearing clothes etc! And no excitement of having labour start out and about, around people or even during the day! Quite glad about tgat in a way0 -
Starbucks, after getting to the hospital and being told to go for a coffee as it would be "ages". Waters broke there just like in the films, then had to walk back to the hospital...in the snow...past spearmint rhino, got to the labour ward and he arrived 20 minutes later, so actually a real danger of a coffee shop birth!0

I was in bed, woke up at 4am with mild contractions, managed to sleep until 8am - he was born at 9:30 that evening. My waters also didn't break - the midwife popped them about 30 minutes before he was born. Pregnant again and hoping labour is the same (or shorter!)0

1st baby - had been in slow labour for weeks, so was virtually pestering the hospital to admit me and get this baby out! gave birth in hospital.
2nd baby - was having pains but remembering 1st experience just went off for a bath and bed - woke up with pains just a minute or so apart - it was all systems go to get DD up my mums (without her emergency bag), and then the 15 miles to the hospital and I gave birth half hour later!
3rd baby - midwives kept insisting I was overdue (according to dates) but as my periods were erratic, I felt I had a few weeks to go - and I was right - I was induced and after quite a long labour he was born and the midwife said 'this baby is a month too early'! Which is what I kept telling them!0 -
1st child- woke up aroun 8am feeling off with a bit if a bad stomach. Contractions started in my back around 12 ish although it was awhile before I realised they could be contractions as the pain was only in my lower back. Arrived hospital around 2pm ish, waters broke not long after and baby born at 17.17 x
2nd child- woke around 2am thinking I had slightly wet the bed, put towel under me only for it to happen again. Got in the bath around 3am feeling a bit crappy. Contractions started around 5am ish, arrived at hospital at 6.50am to be told waters had completely gone and son born in the birth pool at 7.50 am x0 -
First labour i was in hospital being monitered so was in the perfect place
This time around im going to be in the hospital again as im being induced due to my last son deciding to turn breech half way through labour0 -
At home, and although we live 5 mins away from the maternity unit my youngest was very nearly born in the car! Wanted to labour in a birthing pool for all three of them, and all three of them ended up being born in a rush so it never happened! Mustn't grumble though as it did mean it was mercifully fast! Good luck and congratulations everyone xxx0
