Video Guide
I can point you towards a link for the Toshiba recovery disc.
If it's 'clicking', you might not get anything off the HDD at all.
If it's as simple as that, then I'd be happy to at least take the underside off and have a look for myself. I'll have a look at that video guide later, thanks.
The recovery disc would certainly be useful, I assume that it has Win7 on it and I'd just use the existing product key? And yes, I'm pretty pessimistic re getting anything off the existing drive!
Thanks for your help.
UPDATE: Justy looked at that video guide, even an idiot like me could do that!

Have a look at the video guide firstly.
You don't need a Product Key for a recovery disc.0 -

I updated my previous post, I've looked at the video and it looks pretty simple. I reckon even an idiot like me could manage that! :rotfl:David.0 -

You need to create a disc. You have things to do.
Lol, ok.
Well I've got the existing drive out without any problem, but how do I create a disc to get it up and running again with a replacement drive?David.0 -

Seriously take it to a trusted shop or ask a techie friend. I'd do it for a couple of bottles of wine (for friends) ... and should charge more really!!0
