Not all BIOS will allow boot from USB ... just so you know.

Well I have it listed in the BIOS, and moved it to the top of the list.

Good - you should now be able to boot from it (provided you followed the instructions correctly and made it a bootable USB stick).
  • if you have burnt it correctly a menu should appear

In order to make your USB device bootable use this little

    rufus.akeo.ie
I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.

if you're struggling with the usb, download the hiren's bootcd .ISO file, and use imgburn to burn the image to cd. Then boot from the cd. nt offline pw editor is on that :)

  • we might be looking at a situation where the OP has not got the tech knowledge to d/load burn and boot from the device.

it may be easier to take the machine to his local computer shop , and ask them to do this

Download and save the CD image

Un-zip the contents, leaving the .iso image visible.

Make sure that you clear the USB Flash drive of your content, as you will lose it all.

    Pop it into a PC/laptop....

    Download and run Rufus

You can leave the settings(apart from one) at the settings/Default shown here:

    rufus_en.png

The one that should be different will be Partition Scheme...: That should show MBR Partition Scheme...
New Volume Label is whatever you want it to be. You can leave it at whatever it says.
Click on the icon next to 'ISO Image' and navigate to the newly downloaded Offline NT image. Double click on it to insert it and then choose Start.

It will format the drive and make it Bootable.

Once complete, you can close Rufus and use the tool as instructed.
