I have my own tale of woe - and I'm actually trying to give something away!
basically I offered stock from a vintage business I ran for a short while and offered 4 crates worth of china, glass and other vintage items to anyone that could collect that week. I photographed some of the stuff and also, because I know what some people are like, I noted the fact that I would repackage this lot in newspaper in cardboard boxes, I also noted that the boxes were very very heavy.
Most of the sites I offered on have a rule that says the first person who says yes has 24 hours to get back to you and you can't re offer until that time is up. So I wasted about 5 days waiting for people who said yes please, and then who never responded to any PM. Then I had someone who definitely wanted it, we arranged a time for 2 days after- and then just an hour before collection was due she asked when I would be dropping it off for her....
I then re offered, and had two more people say they would collect, and not turn up. Then another person who said yes and again at the last moment said they expected me to deliver. Then another yes please who only wanted the crates and is going for report me to the mods for showing crates in the photo and not letting them have them (they didn't want the china).
The china has now been sitting in my hallway for the best part of 4 weeks and I have someone else supposedly coming tomorrow if they don't turn up then I'll spread it around the charity shops . It's a shame as it is good stock for a stall at a vintage fair and would start someone up with the basics, I just don't have the energy to want to do fairs anymore .I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Me too. The instant someone messages me saying 'av' or 'cud' or 'shud'. I'm instantly annoyed by them.
I have far from perfect spelling and grammar but I at least try.
The second somebody used text speak outside of a text message (I even find it unacceptable in text messages these days since smart phones don't have character limits like old dumb phones used to, which created the need for shortened words) I'm instantly irritated by them.
The part I find most annoying is when they misspell words but use the same amount of characters. IE woz instead of was. That doesn't even make sense.
But my biggest bugbear of all the text speak is when people spell gorgeous 'gawjuss'. It makes me honestly want to punch the person responsible. It doesn't resemble the original word sound in any way, it doesn't save time. it just makes whoever has written it looks utterly dim and idiotic. For some reason I find that in particular incredibly irritating.Sigless0 -

I tried to give some racking away once on a forum I was a member of.
Someone from Swindon (2 hours away) offered to take it provided I delivered it and put it up for him.
Needless to say I scrapped it, and got paid."Love you Dave Brooker! x"
