What fone is it? tend to find people asking daft money for fones,i've seen people asking £200 for iphone 4s.

It's an iPhone 5s as new. With about £100 worth of accessories and Apple care. The price is very fair. And I put £230 so I had some wiggle room. I'm happy to accept around £200 but not £90 or £150.

Facebook "for sale" groups should be part of the national curriculum as an example of why children should learn at least the basics of our language.

I don't mind the odd txt spk but in my local one, even the word bargain in the group's title is spelt wrongly. If I see "need gone" one more time.....

I sell on my local pages, as someone else said it is a quick way to get rid of things. I tend to hide it from my news feed unless I am selling, then I can dip into the pages rather than it continually clogging up my feeds.

Some people do want something for nothing, you also get others who ask a fortune for things.

I gave away our old swing set for a couple of bags of sweets. I have met some lively people, although I have also had those dreaded no shows.

Wish i could find an iphone on my FB pages for that sort of money, looking through pages and pages of kids clothes and pushchairs in the hope i might find one!!!
  • I've had mixed results on facebook, some stuff goes easily but there are too many people who want you to deliver or offer next to nothing for things. Then there are the no shows. I normally put things on FB for a couple of weeks then ebay or give to charity shop/local church if they don't go. I have bought some things myself off FB but equally been messed around by sellers when trying to collect things.
Nothing to see here, move along.

People will sell any old crap on FB - a lady was selling some "dulux cristmas hampers" (her spelling), which were nothing more than £3 worth of chocolates from PoundLand in a 2nd hand dog-chewed wicker basket with some badly tied ribbon and she was asking £15.

All the Tracey's, Stacies and Stevie-Lee type people went mad for them. It even interested the ones who work at: Full Time Mummy.

Then there are the Tracey's and Stacie's who sell Reindeer dust for a quid.. (!) Which is just a 12kg sack of wild bird seed (£3.99 @ B&M) split down into 15g pouches tied with a used hair bobble.

I'm not sure what you're implying but, when my kids were little and I worked as "full time Mummy"....let me tell you, it's the hardest job in the world...going to work now is a piece of cake in comparison!
Never put off until tomorrow what you can avoid doing altogether.:D

I joined a few groups and over all found it a complete waste of time.

Listed a phone in four different groups. Price was £230. Within ten minutes I had 6 offers ranging from £150 to £90. Obviously declined.

Then three people offered £200. I accepted first. Waited in for hours for them to collect only to get a 'sry 2 mess u abot' message. On to the next. Same thing. It's happened a total of four times now. The last telling me and I quote 'u shud av accepted cheper cos I fond 1 4 less'.

My favourite if when they make an offer. As above. Phone is listed for £230. Someone offers £150. I politely decline. The reply with '£150 and I'll collect within the hour'. As if that's somehow going to make me suddenly find an offer of less than half the asking acceptable.

Plus I can't deal with all the absolute idiots on there and those who are trying to sell cats and dogs. One women put up an album full of photos entitled 'everything needs gone'. With a picture of a table, some shoes, toys and.....a cat. As if it were some disposable throw away item. I was livid.

Needless to say I left all the groups after a few weeks.

Out of curiosity which groups do you use?

I've only tried the local ones.

Urgh - that earns instant disdain from me.

I've done a lot of selling on Facebook lately, just bits & bobs whilst trying to de clutter the house.

Must say, I'm impressed. No fees & your stuff is usually gone within a day or 2 & no Post Office involved.

Yes, like everywhere you get your time wasters but no eBay, no post office. I much prefer it!

No post office? How does that work then?

Facebook sales tend to be face to face as people make and accept offers on local pages - usually.
