I tried my electric wall heater in the living room today and it keeps going off. I'm not sure if its an issue with a timer which I have never used, I always just switch it on when I need the heat. I have never liked how complicated the timer and the settings are. If it needs replacing I'm going to get one that connects to Alexa and let her handle it.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

My daughter has taken to eating toast with homemade hedgerow jam or soup as a quick snack when she comes in from school so bread is always a bonus in our house. I invested in a breadmaker to make things easier but I am still mastering a basic loaf before I try anything else/Time to find me again11 -
Hi everyone. I was a regular a few years ago, hopefully some people recognise me, and have been away for a while for various reasons but jumping back on and excited to get back to this lovely, cosy thread
Love to see some old faces (names) and new ones too.
Looking forward to being back on board with you all xxx17 -
DH is grumbling about his cold, damp terry bath towel, so I suggested using a flannel to get most of the water off and the towel for a final dry. Victor Meldrew suggested it in one of his rants.
It should be weeks before the central heating comes on and we have the luxury of heated towels.
There are a lot of people coughing with no regard to others.15 -
I've been using microfibre cloths before drying with a towel for years now. This started when we first got a motorhome years ago with nowhere to dry towels easily. The microfibre squares (designed for kitchens and bathrooms) were ideal to dry easily and quickly by hanging them over the steering wheel! So same idea as the flannel.14

I have used a cotton terry face-flannel for ‘initial drying’ after a bath- I try to avoid microfibre on environmental grounds, but cotton flannels work (and dry quickly) just as well ime!2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:

I've also seen a N4ncy B1rtwhistle video where she uses melted candle to re-waterproof a jacket - I'm not sure it would work so well on shoes but it looked like a viable option on her jacket.7 -
I’m not sure if the is strictly MSE as it does involve a purchase - but it’s a mighty cheap one compared to normal - king size heated underblanket from Dreamland £29.99 with free P&P if you collect from your local DPD pick up point (these are usually corner shops/post offices and you have the option to select which one you want to collect it from.)
Edit to say we wouldn’t be without ours as we don’t tend to heat the upstairs bedrooms very much during the winterLancashire
