Actually you do have to top up for the 100MB deal; it's the 100GB one that you don't need to. Looks like we have both missed out :(

Thanks for confirming what I said ;).

Which is why nifty linked to sims on ebay that have already been topped up.

Except I wasn't answering ND, I was answering the post I quoted ;).

There is still this possibility. Mine hasn't arrived yet to find out.

Please note its a nano, but they also sell combi

Even though it says Nano, it's probably a Multi-SIM.

I do that too. 100mb free permanent sim would have been quite usefull since I use less than that on my smartphone. However, despite querying how this worked I was under the impression that you had to top up - so I never ordered one. Silly really; had I ordered and not topped up to see what happened I wouldn't have lost anything.

Order one anyway, ya junkie! It's only 99p. No need to top up.

Look at the posting times; it took me far longer than 3 minutes to compose that! Or do you not want me to research my facts and then check them beforehand? :D

I guess if they top them up just before dispatch, its now hit an miss before the 4 Jan deadline
If they routinely did that then they'd never arrive with the full 7 days allowed for the £1 pack. There again, they haven't stated any expiry time at all! Maybe they are in some way programmed to activate the £1 pack as soon as the SIM makes contact with EE's signal. If this is the case, it's debatable whether that connection has to be made by 4 January or if it's the time of programming that is the crucial date.

Is your order going to the same name and address as your 100GB SIM did? If so, you may have fallen foul of this:
The offer applies to all new pay as you go phones (including SIM Only) and tablet customers
As you activated the 100GB SIM nearly a month ago, you may not be regarded as a new customer. The text is ambiguous though, as 'new customers' could be read as only applying to tablets. However I doubt this, as it's apparent to me that the EE site just hasn't been professionally copy edited.

Well, it appears to be an entirely different offering, requiring a regular top-up with no mention of a permanent free 100mb. I looked at it before, but maybe I'm missing something.

The link was on the first page of this thread here it is again although it may have ended on the 28th Dec ???

    http://ee.co.uk/help/accounts-billing-and-topping-up/pay-as-you-go-top-ups/free-data-offer

Our phones and tablets come with a gift of 100MB free data every single month. The offer applies to all new pay as you go phones (including SIM Only) and tablet customers who join EE from 15 October 2014.
The offer ends for phones and SIMs on 28 December 2014 and tablet on 31 January 2015. Just top up at least £5 on your phone by 4 January 2015 or register the tablet and activate the free data online by 6 February 2015.
The EE offer is available across EE stores, online at ee.co.uk or over the phone – and through our pay as you go indirect partners. T-Mobile and Orange voice customers qualify too, if they switch to EE during the period of the offer.
It's not just about the money

I think the link they are now referring to is the Ebay sim.
