Really? I must know dozens of people with cars, and I can't remember the last time anyone mentioned washing one never mind polishing it! My car got hosed down about 8 months ago, and the last time my wife's saw a bucket of soapy water was when she got a complimentary valet with a service in June 2013.0 -

Lets face it, 99% of people polish their car, but no mention of ever protecting it with a wax or sealant!
No argument here either it is just the question was raised about having to wax a car that has been t-cutted.
That's the case as T-cut takes off all the paint protection in the surrounding areas as any painy renovator, even claybars will do.
Polishing is not the same as waxing, that's why they have different names and as shown, there are different products available. I was simply answering a question raised in the thread.
You just seemed to disagree on whether AutoGlym is a premium product or not. I have never had bad results with it.
I am another that doesn't polish the car though. I used to but the current one is just a tool to get from a to b. I polish the bike though, more susceptible to harsh weather. What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0 -

Of those that polish their car 99% don't protect it, you know what I meant!
I don't see many cars beading water, very few are protected.

I just disagreed with using autoglym being classed as going crazy0 -
Just an update, when I got home the mark had gone. I went over with a bottle of wine to apologise and he said that he got it off with white spirits. He was very nice about itHi. Mmm, part of me wants to sneakily polish and wax it in the middle of the night...

I had the same thought....0

I had a similar thing with a previous (white) car. In my case, it was a black paint mark on the white bumper.
I took it to get a Chip repair quote from Halfords, and they said that it was very slightly too large to qualify for their cheapest rate, and I should try cleaning it to see how big the damaged area actually was and possibly get the quote down.
I used some Stardrops generic cleaning fluid (Poundshops). A few seconds later, the mark was entirely gone.0 -
Well done OP in getting a good result. Just to wade into the surface refinishing argument, most people say T Cut, the old-fashioned, handy body cleaner, when they are really seeing someone using T Cut colour fast. Every driveway dealer will have six bottles of that, covering all colours, to immaculate up his stock. Buyers will then wonder why their new purchase quickly loses its gloss and their red Vauxhall start going pink.0
