Hey judi24 :j and thank you very much
I've got another workmate hooked on peppermint & liquoriceI should be getting commission :rotfl:
I know I need to slow down with studies, I sat 5 exams in last 12 months and hope to do 5 more this year but I was exhausted at times. I don't have family nearby so 100% of the childcare is done by me. I take DS to school, I pick him up, I cook every single meal and I do all the housework and many more things, you know what it's like. So add on the studies and it can get hectic but I also get bored otherwise. So I try to find a balance.
So today was a quiet day, we went to a library. Got rained on, snowed on and almost blown away but managed to get home safely.
DS wanted sausage and mash for dinner so decided to pop into Spar on the way home, thought it was better than getting home, getting into the car and driving 1mile to the nearest Asda. And I was shocked  how inflated the prices are!!! 8 Richmond sausages £3.70 WHAT???, a packet of biscuits with RRP £1 label on them was selling for £1.80, Pringles £2.70... Couldn't bare to look around, grabbed my sausages and left. Never coming back there again, would rather drive the extra mile.

Hello diary
It's been a few days. Done a shop at As*a on Sunday, £62.50  So don't know how the £20 left is going to last me till end of the month :rotfl: Did buy lots of household items and ingredients for a few new recipes, one being vegan gluten free sugar free brownies, OMG they are the bestcan't get enough. Another is pesto pasta with spinach and peas, will try that as soon as I can get hold of some pine nuts, where have they all disappeared to?.. Going to try Sainsbur*'s, hope they stock.
My son's 7th birthday is coming up in 5 weeks. So far he's asked for The Bible and a spa day. Got The Bible already, also a lovely T-shirt and one of CompareTheMarket meerkats that he collects. Spa days are pretty pricey, might just get a spa pass for the day and one treatment each will do. He could live in the pool and jacuzzi so I'm sure we'll stay there all day. Oh, and DS console games which a kind friend has given me for free. So he'll get those too. Might pick up some Astrid Lindgren books too, those were one of my favourites whilst growing up. That'll be plenty I reckon.
Touch typing is going well, done my 20min today and can really feel how much better I'm doing.:T Can't wait till I can type really fast without looking at all.
Restful night everyone

They sell pine nuts in the whole food section of Te5co.0

Well done on keeping up with the typing. You'll be doing half hour a day in no time. The one thing I'd say is try not to look at the keys apart from when you put your fingers on the middle row to start.

You're Son's birthday list made me giggle - a Bible and spa day! an interesting combination for a 7 year old! Sound like you are all sorted though!
Typing progress is great too! You are doing great with the studying, work and raising your son single handed - Its not easy I know - but it sounds like you are very motivated and won't rest until you get to where you want to be. Very admirable0 -
Thanks AleMrsT, I'll check
joedenise, I do not look at the keyboard at all :j The only time I'm making mistakes is if I start to rush and then I stop for a bit, think about where the button is and press the right one. It's a wonderful feeling typing out a word realising you didn't actually have to think about where the key was and didn't look down at all :j
judi24 I know, it sounds very randomHe told me he wants to study the bible and have a thorough understanding of Christianity. I don't talk about Jesus as such but do mention religion, I think he's just curious. I was really into it from 7 to around 12yo, went to church and studied the bible myself. So it looks like he's following in my footsteps, though I've never actually told him I've done all that. Guess genes can't lie
And spa because he's a little fishy, he could swim for hours and loves the bubbles in a jacuzziI enjoy it too so it'll be something very relaxing for both of us to do.

My DS would love a spa day but his would have to include a massage! We had been doing some reading around ADHD and one of the issues is not being able to get to sleep - he read that a massage would help so every night I have to rub his back for 5 mins!!! not sure if it helps him sleep and I'm sure I am ruining him for any future girlfriend/wife!!!!
Sounds like a fun day out with your DS though!0 -
Haha judi24 love it :rotfl: My DS likes it too! I would love for someone to give me a massage every night as well
It's just a thoroughly relaxing experience, should definitely help with nodding off

You're definitely touch typing now - how do I know? because you know when you've made a mistake! Don't try to rush just try for accuracy - the speed will come later. This was something which I was taught many moons ago. I didn't learn at school as my school was rather more academic (probably not the best for me!) but I learnt to type about a year after I left school and got paid whilst training which was great as I was earning more whilst training than I had been in my previous job!
It wasn't something I particularly wanted to do but I ended up working as a secretary before and after I had my kids (I didn't work when they were small because we didn't get any help with childcare in the 70s so it wasn't worth my while going back to work so ended up having 14 years off).

Hello Diary
well, I've had the most bizarre day today, all was well till 4pm when I realised my drawers have been attacked by mice! They got into my porridge box and bit through 20 sachets of porridge and ate the whole lot, as well as leave poo and urine everywhere. I almost passed out, people must have heard me screaming at the other side of the building. I am literally the cleanest person in the office and that was the only food I had in my drawers, why did they have to go for me  Going to get a new set of drawers since I'm not prepared to use these even if they get cleaned, they stink so bad. And pest controller is coming tomorrow. I bet this makes it into the monthly newsletter, great :rotfl:
I've just finished eating pesto pasta with peas and spinach, delicious
Recipe here http://deliciouslyella.com/recipe/pea-spinach-pesto-pasta/
Mild flavours, creamy pasta, what else could you ask for. I used brown rice pasta since I cannot have gluten.
Apart from pine nuts at £2.50I haven't bought anything else.
Right, I feel like I need to immerse myself in antibacterial sprayDisgusting...
