Hello Diary
it's been very busy few days, 31st December being our year end January is always crazy but having come back from a long holiday I've not been in a mood to work :rotfl:
So money wise things are looking OK though it is a rather long monthThe costs apart from food so far are:
£145 car tax
£30 tea
£38 dental hygienist, later on this month
=£213
Got my exam pass bonus this month but in Feb I should be getting £500 extraso that'll go towards the flights back to see the family in August and rest to the savings.
Got two weeks before the studies start again, gonna use it wisely :T Loads and loads of rest, try to sleep as much as possible and relaxing baths with a cup of tea and my kindle
I do want to learn to touch type as fast as possible as well, however I keep on putting if off thinking it's hard work. Has anyone got any tips? Best website for practicing?
That's it for tonight, have a wonderful Thursday everyone

Years ago I used a package called "Mavis Beacon". Just checked and it's still available - including a Free download but you have to put up with adverts with that.
Just google and you'll find it.

Thanks joedenise  I'll look it up
Thought i'd do an update whilst my little one is cuddled up next to me, very peaceful.
January is the last payment for my Mac so that's going to free up £91.92 per month. So yay to that :T
My friend was over for the day yesterday, hour before her arrival I realised I hadn't bought her a Christmas present  So off to Asda I drove, got her some lovely socks with penguins on it since she's obsessed with them after seeing the JL advert :rotfl:, Galaxy chocolate and candles that she loves, add on the bag and tissue paper and it was £18...add to that a few supplies and it was £32. I'm usually the most organised person I know, buying presents weeks in advance. No idea what happened... Then we went for a meal, so another £20 for me and DS. All budgeted apart from the pressie.
Today is what we call here a lazy Sunday :A We'll cook delicious food, watch TV, cuddle and read and not much else, bliss
Lazy Sunday everyone

Nothing better than a lazy Sunday - I'm having one too although really do have a lot to do - but not motivated at all today!!!
I love teapigs - but I don't buy them often - I drink coffee (way too much coffee!!!) so I tend to drink that at work and herbal tea at home. Might have a look for teapigs again and try to drop off the coffee a bit!
Its lovely to get a break in the studying isn't it? I have another assignment due on the 3rd Feb so really need to get a wriggle on - but I have now mastered my timings so have taken 2 study days and 1 a/l day before it is due and I am sure I can get it done! Its great that you MD is so supportive - I'm sure it's making a real difference!!!
I'm sure your friend enjoyed her thoughtful gift - you enjoy your chill time too0 -
Hi judy24 :j hope you're having a relaxing afternoon.
I used to drink a fair amount of coffee but caffeine just doesn't agree with me anymore. My favourite Teapigs flavour is peppermint and liquorice, I drink about 5 mugs a dayI do have a Nespresso coffee machine and loads of decaf capsules so I end up having maybe 2 milky coffees a week.
I've really enjoyed this break but at the same time I end up thinking, right, I'm ready to get back to it because the sooner I finish the sooner I can get where I want to be so it's finding a balance, isn't itMy FD is absolutely amazing, one of the most generous and understanding people I've ever met, he says he's just as lucky to have me, I agree
My friend did enjoy her presents but I was the lucky one this time I think, got a L'occitane set, my favourite indulgence but I never buy it for myself
You have a lovely Sunday too0 -
Hello Diary
Financially, not much to report, did a small £10 shop today content of which is cooking in the oven right nowyum can't wait, one of my family's recipes.
Decided the best place for me to practice touch typing is workso since day before yesterday I've been doing 15min a day. Was thinking to increase the time, see how it goes. But I do find it a little boring, might have to just stick with what I manage mentally :rotfl: Don't want to get put off.
Savings wise looks like I might save around £800 this month which I'm very happy with because it's a 6 week month

15 minutes a day is fine to start with. It is very boring but once you get used to where all the keys are you can just copy anything - perhaps something from a book or a magazine. It would definitely be a bit more interesting.
As you speed improves you'll find it easier to do a bit longer.

Thank you for your encouragement joedenise, I shall persevere
It's a great skill to type fast without looking at the keyboard and will save me tons of time0 -
Good evening diary
The hygienist appointment went well, lovely clean teeth. I'm pondering whether to whiten them once I'm done with the braces which should be around April time. I'll get complimentary whitening kit with my retainers. Any experiences are very welcome
Just added up all the money and I should save a healthy £790odd this month if I manage with £80 budget left for food shopping for 2 weeks, that'll be pretty tough but I'll try. Loads of porridge and eggs
Didn't do my touch typing at work today since I was ages at the dentist and then had something urgent to tend to but will definitely do some tomorrow, maybe even more than 15min
Right, off to run a bath for my sweetie pie and pick some bed time stories :A
Relaxing Thursday everyone

Definitely going to look at tea pigs!!! I can legitimately look soon as I have just about exhausted my herbal tea supply - and I'm being nagged by a colleague in work about my caffeine intake and insomnia!
I get where you are coming from about getting the modules done and out of the way and moving on after the course has finished - but there needs to be a balance and sometimes its easy to forget the hear and now and enjoy the process not just the result!
Your FD sounds amazing - and he is lucky to have you as you are clearly a very committed and focused young lady and he obviously sees your potential!!!0
