  • Whilst I'm in between the exams and have a little more spare time, I've been reading up on how to be money/business savvy and prosper

If any of you have titles you've found useful I'd be grateful if you could share :)

I find that if I start procrastinating it has a very unpleasant effect on me, studying is great because I feel I'm always learning, then comes books and research on the internet. Things can get monotonous otherwise and I get itchy feet. Deep inside I know I'm restless, like I've got places to be and I'm on my way but it's taking time because I need to be ready and I'm not quite there yet.

Do people have their 1, 5, 10yrs plans? I do... But at the same time I'm flexible in case an opportunity comes up that changes everything. I do love change. I'll have a big decision to make once I qualify. Which direction do I pick? There's so many. I have a good idea and I'm open to taking risks, calculated ones.

Thoughtful night awaits, dreams and plans that cannot wait to come alive
  • Back to the practicalities of it all...
Planning on having a NSD tomorrow and day after, enough food in the fridge. Sticking with the budget but then again, it's only 2nd :D

Feeling a bit tired tonight, DS is asleep so I'll crawl into a hot bath and finish reading my book, it's really grabbed my attention. I love learning and understanding all about money and this particular one is about making the right investments.

    Peaceful night everyone :)
  • Hello Diary :)

Recently very little seems to go as planned... Noticed a small white dot on my son's front tooth this morning, queue phone call to see his dentist, pronto. I also had my own braces appointment hence spent 3.5hrs going to and coming back from dentists today.
DS just loves seeing his dentist! Turns out he's OK and the dot should disappear soon. She was kind enough to not charge for a 45min chat and check up. Good dentist are very hard to find so hold onto one if you find him/her. I'm big on teeth so check DS's over every day for any change. My own was painful, have had braces for close to 11 months and they're coming off around April next year :D woohoo But tonight I'm simply in agony, I'm sure he picked the tightest elastics he can get his hands on
Ended up bringing DS back to work with me too, he just loves it there, it's got a creche as well as pool tables and game machines. Wish I could bring him more often but then I struggle to concentrate.

So tonight I'm in pain, tired and £100 lighter (braces payment). Hmm...looks like a hot bath and book again for me, and a relatively early night
  • How could I forget...

I found £5 note on the ground :j And then 2p at different time, so £5.02 roadkill today :money:

I'm good at finding money, or does it find me?.. :rotfl:
  • Good Luck!

I know how hard it is to be a single mum and wish I had saved instead of getting myself into debt to buy the house.

    :)

It is brill that you are giving your son the responsibility of the entertainment budget. I have a 7yo daughter...think I should maybe give her the reins for some of it.

I am one of those accountants that can't account...currently coming to the end *hopefully* of ACCA exams! And hopefully end of debt days! :)

Hi debtfreeby30? :) Thanks for dropping by

I enjoy being a single parent :) it's an honour to be given an opportunity to bring a child up, especially your own.

So you're an accountant too :) How many exams have you got left? I'm sure you'll be getting to grips with money soon, you're on this awesome website after all
  • I have 3 exams left (sitting one on Friday, one on Monday so fingers crossed one to sit next June...been a loooong road!)

Will defo get through this and get debt free. Hopefully getting through it will rub off on my two! :)

Hope you don't mind but I've subscribed :)

  • Wow debtfreeby30? well done and I wish you patience and strength, I know how hard it is. Best of luck and let me know how it goes

No major dramas today, thank god. Son had a school trip and loved it and I managed to get a lot of work done since yesterday was pretty much a write off with all the appointments. Didn't manage a NSD, needed to pick up milk and dark chocolate. Since I don't eat any sugary stuff 85%+ dark chocolate is pretty much my only treat :) So I do end up having some most days, it's yummy

I'm onto my next book now about helping the money flow to you, sounds very interesting.

And I did find another 5p today :money: Amongst grey pebbles, no idea how I spotted it :D

Have a good night everyone and do let me know if you're reading or have any thoughts or advice :)

    Hi Diary :)

When it rains it pours, hey...

After my awful bout of sickness almost two weeks ago I woke up on Friday with the worst tonsillitis I've ever had, had to miss the Christmas do and spent saturday in bed. Fortunately, just like the bug it lasted 48hrs and now I'm OK. And determined to stay healthy :T

First NSD today, a couple of eBay sales too that need posting tomorrow and £8 cash back became payable :money:

Going to carry on with my book tonight, I really enjoy reading when I'm not studying. Just thinking how much more I'll be able to read once I qualify gets me excited :D

It's been a nice relaxing Sunday, the apartment is sparkling clean and we're sitting watching a family film :A Might do a property browse, gives me focus. Not happy with the change in stamp duty though, ridiculous expectations on top of the deposit required. Knuckling down and getting on with it, might have a quick look at roughly how much we can save this month.

    Peaceful Sunday night everyone :)

Glad to hear you are ok now, I have had a similar bug since Thursday night and now have the beginnings of a sore throat, so perhaps they are linked :(

Surely the stamp duty changes will make buying cheaper for most people?
