Tesco Value snobbery??

They were finish 10in1 I think they were called. They were fine but sometimes left a bit of gunk on burnt on things. I have NEVER had anything left on anything since using the value ones. Although a friend of mine used the Tesco own brand (one step up from value) and said they were terrible.
Those finish ones are 3in1, 4in5, 5in1, all sorts.
To be honest I've never been that keen on them.
Before quantum, I used Fairy, before Fairy I used Finish.0 -

Mrs E why not give them a go, they are less than £2 so not too much money to waste if you really dont like them.
The Quantum are £10 for the big size.
I'm always watching for an offer;)
For that money I could buy them & if they were ok keep the Quantum for Sunday roasts & stuff.
Them Quantum get EVERYTHING off:D0 -

I told my children if you waste this good toilet paper I'll buy the basic stuff and believe it or not the good stuff lasts longer now
I use to get embarrassed at buying reduced stuff, my eldest still does and wont go near the reduced section (she is a pre teen though, you know what they're like) but my younger daughter is right in there, elbows out pushing the adults out the way to see what she can get me! :rotfl:
I love shopping with her! :T0 -

We have mostly striped stuff in the cupboard too. HAd a Mr T delivery 2 days ago. The shop was £10 cheaper then the next, ASDA!!! (according to my supermarket!)
That was before all discount taken off!
I never buy Jaffa cakes original again! They tast c**p. Lidls own for me agaiN!I wish Germany had a website like moneysavingexpert!0 -
I think once you can get past thinking that other people peer into your shopping basket and judge you on your bargains then shopping is a much more pleasant experience. I now look at is as a challenge to see how little i can spend. i cooked a dinner the other night which fed 6 people for only about£3-4 using value stuff and it was wolfed down. long live tesco value.
And a question, which have you found better, Tesco Value, or Sainsbury's Basics ?0 -
Not a value snob at all. I can't be bothered to decant although I tend to buy shower gels etc in the £1 shop or BOGOF's in Wilko's.
I try all the value things and if I/we don't like them then I move up one stage. My DS is only 3 so fingers crossed he won't know any different growing up and think "value" is normal
Obviously my MIL is a bargain hunter as we went out today and DS dragged me straight into the charity shop. MIL then said "oh we always come in here" :rotfl:

Quite often I buy goods that have been battered about in transit and they are reduced I'm not bothered as I am not going to eat the tin, it gets washed out and put in the recycle box anyway .I have a friend who will use her Harrods carrier bag to carry almost anything in as it's got Harrods on the front ,soppy mare, who gives a fig what's on the label Only people who have so little going on in their lives I think.0

If I'm not buying local and/or organic (organic with certain foods that I eat alot of/are actually cheaper organic/the same price only or juice as I can't stand the taste of value/basic or even the higher normals. The organic juice is just that much nicer and doesn't do weird things to my blood sugar levels
) I'll buy value/basic. The way I see it is that it is not organic then it's basically the same :rotfl: .
That and most of the value/basic items are sold at a loss and if they are that stupid as a company I'll take advantage of that for as long as I can as it's eating into their profit while I chow down on a healthy nutritious meal for very little. It means that I can dislike the supermarkets and still use them as what I buy is costing them. I will raid the reduced section for fruit and vegetables as well as other items. I get most of my fruit and vegetables from the local grocers. Last lot of produce from the grocers cost £13 and would have cost at least £10 more in the supermarkets as I got nectarines, kiwis, clementines, cherries, red grapes, fresh peas etc. that cost a lot at supermarkets. I’m a regular customer and go near the end of the day to get the best bargains but because I’m a regular as well I can get lasts of things for less than the guy paid sometimes as he doesn’t like mixing in 2 different days worth of produce together and knows that I got there to support the guy who needs it more (and my fiance works at a supermarket but hey I think they can afford it more as they are still managing to make profits of stupid amounts). The cherries were £1 for 1lb for example and I got 1lb of them. They are £1.99 for just over 1/2lb in most supermarkets at the moment so that is a hell of a saving, and I will never again pay 69p or more for a pepper when I can get 2 for the same price.
Supermarkets take the mickey and that’s the truth. If buying value/basic products helps me and makes them lose money or brake even at best then all the better for the consumer. We should just laugh at them for not letting the psychological colours of the packaging that is supposed to make us avoid it not do it’s job! They hire many psychologists to market their products but those on here and around the world that buy the ones they try to make us avoid have the upper hand and should be proud of it!I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy0
