We bought a fridge/freezer from Boots online a year ago. We had a phone call yesterday from a woman who said she was from Boots, trying to sell us appliance insurance. It was quite a pressure call, and while I was trying to think about it, she said"I can prove I am from Boots, and gave me my wife's Advantage Card number and the credit card number I used to buy the freezer!! She then asked for my bank details so she could set up a direct debit, I refused and that was the end of the call. I traced the number she rang from, and it was DRL Ltd office!
I am in the process of complaining to Boots, as I don't know why DRL should have the advantage card number and credit card details, when I thought we were dealing with Boots only, and do not like being misled in this way.0 -
