You can make, then freeze sandwiches. I used to do it when I was skint. I'd make a couple of weeks worth of sandwiches, wrap the amount I'd have each day in cling film and the. Put them in the freezer.
Do not put any salad or veg in them, it turns to slime, but ham, cheese and pickle, egg mayo, tuna mayo, plain marmite, peanut butter, jam all work really well and taste great
If you do want salad, you can take it separately and add it in just before you eat it.
Take them out the night before and leave them on the side and they are defrosted ready to take to work the next morning. In the summer you can take them in straight from the freezer and they are ready by lunchtime.0 -

But we didn't know that at the point I made my comments!!Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -

My comments stand.
If you can't afford a mortgage you can simply sell a house, if your situation changes funnily enough you wouldn't have the money to pay off the rest of a phone contract in one go.0 -

Yes. I made several points. Only one is disputed, which is actually a statement of fact. He cannot afford this contract currently. He needs to make changes, either reducing the cost or finding more money for it.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -
This is another lift share site.

Seems to have more lifts on offer than the last one I posted.0 -
I do think its the food that can be cut down if another job isn't possible. Although at this time of year you would probably have some success in seasonal shop work, depending on where it is you live? Recently the local shops and supermarkets have been advertising for Christmas staff, so maybe a possibility.
I would try and meal plan down to snacks etc. Shop in cheaper places and look for reduced items you can freeze.0 -
I work 35 hours a week mon-fri I then do over time at 3 hours a night so that brings it up to 50. I then do 6 hours on a Saturday if the overtime is there if not I do 10 hours at my pub job and then another 10 hours on Sunday so in total working 70 hours a week
While doing all this I STILL manage to run my own home and do everything for myself. my mum lives 600 miles away so can't pop over to hers whenever I feel like it.
My OH works over 110 hours some weeks and just gets his normal salary nothing on top it's just expected
!!!!!! my mum worked 2 jobs totalling about 65 hours while having chemo for breast cancer! She is on her own so again had to do everything herself
If you want to stop being so skint and supply for your child then you are going to have to make some sacrifies simple as that is what a good parent does
Your OH works 110 hours a WEEK?
Is that a mistype?
Nobody works 110 hours a week. If they work Monday to Friday, that's 22 hours a day.
Even if he works 6 days; it's nearly 19 hours a day. Impossible.
And out of interest, if you have children, who looks after them while you're at work 70 hours a week, and your OH is at work 110 hours a week?
If you don't have children, then you can't really compare your situation to the OP's.
I agree with the people who have said give the guy a break - he is only 19, and is still finding his feet in life. All these posts about how working 40 hours a week is 'nothing' and is virtually part-time, and he needs to get a grip and 'man up' and all that.
He is doing his best. Give him a chance.
And 40 hours a week IS full time, even though some are making out that they do 300 hours a week! And that is just normal! And you're no kind of man if you don't do at least that!!!
You DO need to make your own lunches though OP. Spending all the money you spend on lunches is a huge waste of money.Proud to have lost over 3 stone (45 pounds,) in the past year! :j Now a size 14!
You're not singing anymore........ You're not singing any-more!
