That doesnt excuse "vigilante" justice to try and destroy a business's reputation which could ultimately lead to the business shutting down and people losing their jobs.
I expect if the OP published the name you would put fake negative reviews on to really make them suffer.
It's an extremely unpleasant attitude to have....0 -

It hasn't failed. It's sticking with the terms and conditions that were agreed by both parties at the time the contract was formed.0 -
I am not sure how they can refuse to serve the food which has been paid for though. If you wanted to be difficult you could ask another attendee to ask them to serve it and then ask for it to be boxed up.0

I would suggest you take a refresher course in contract law. Just because something is in the terms and conditions, it doesn't make it legal.
And it's poor form to accuse someone who disagrees with you of underhand tactics. I made it clear that as long as facts are stuck to, then a negative review is acceptable. Why you would say I would then create a "fake review" based on someone else's experience is frankly pathetic. One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0 -

Your contribution to this thread has been "trash them on tripadvisor etc".
That's your one suggestion. It doesn't help the OP and is unnecessarily vindictive. I don't know what sort of person you are but it's obviously not a very nice one.0 -

I don't think it is vindictive to write a review based on your actual experience.
The OP has a legitimate reason for cancellation and whatever the rights or wrongs of the contract, a little compassion goes a long way in business. Especially when they have the revenue from another 65 guests to consider. If I had organised the event I wouldn't book there again or advise other organisers to do so.
A factual review stating she found them intractable in the face of her unforseen circumstances is not in any way vindictive imo.0 -

But they haven't dined at the restaurant so don't really have an experience to review.
It would just be a vindictive complaint as they couldn't get their money refunded. I don't see how that helps anyone as the restaurant tells you this at time of booking.
A review that just says this is true is useless!
I just don't like the phrase "trash" a balanced fair review would be ok but "trash" is vindictive.
I realise some people are like that I just wish they weren't0 -
Well I would want to know the attitude of management in a place I am going to dine in so a factual review like this would be doing other potential customers a favour.0
