  • Well I suppose they make the house look more welcoming.

You don't get a second chance to make a first impression.

However, all it will do really IS give a good first impression. People still won't buy if they don't like the house or it's overpriced.

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton

Everyone thinks they are Ann Maurice.

If the house has the canvas ie. modern fittings and a neutral backdrop, they way the furniture is arranged isn't really going to affect whether people view or not. If the house roughly fits the criteria you want, then you will view it.

It's true that some people can't see the problem with painting a room bright blue and then wonder why the house isn't selling but if it ticks the 'modernised' box and that is on someone's list, then the house won't lose viewings because of it.

I would remove the picture of the dining room - it is not a great shape and you need to get people in the door.

Can you get to the utility room directly from the kitchen or only via the dining room?

Tree35, aside from your spam, if the OP needed to sell quickly four years ago, do you not think they would have been repossessed by now?

Well done for putting your mobile number on a public forum. If you're lucky, you'll have weirdos phoning you.
