I was actually put off by the floor paln in brochure 1 - but on reading it more closely (as I couldn't make sense of it from the pictures) I think they actually have the map labelled incorrectly. The dining room and the sitting room have been labelled the wrong way round - I think. I was trying to imagine sitting in a living room measuring 18' by 8'....
Can you chekc this, as I think it's a problem!0 -
Have to say the rightmove particulars don't do it any favours - if you bother to go into the brochure you realise that as well as what is listed on the rightmove details there is an annexe on the back which would might be useable as a selfcontained bedroom and shower room. People might be put off by what appears to be a high price for limited space before they bother to click through to that.
In terms of visual impression it looks sterilised. The garden would be a turnoff to anyone who enjoys their garden - the front is way too much block paving which would have to be ripped up if they wanted to plant anything, and the back is hard to visualise as a gardeners paradise. Inside seems to follow the same theme - fantastically clean and crisp but maybe too much so which is making it hard for people to imagine themselves living there.
As for the price, I'm used to Bath prices which aren't exactly cheap but £675k for a 4 bed - yeeeouch!Adventure before Dementia!0 -
Sounds incredibly expensive to me.
The dining room looks really strange - so long and thin, and the table being up one end does it no favours. Was it originally a garage?0 -
How about you get a bit of wood, and paint on it 'For Sale - £675,000 ono' and your number below it.
Then stick it up in the garden.
Word of mouth will pass it on too.0 -

If I had nearly 700k to spend I would look elsewhere. Who on earth is going to pay that much for an extended Semi? You can buy immaculate detatched houses in the St Albans area with double garages for 600k. The reason you cannot sell is simple - the house is overpriced. If you don't believe it, just keep waiting a few more years!0

How Much?????? :eek::eek::eek:
YOU HAVE GOT TO BE JOKING!!!!!:wall:0 -
Hope it works out for you. Thing is, if you don't get a sale soon at a reasonable price, it's value is just going to keep dropping IMO. The cycle/party is ending.0

We've reduced the price as much as we can
We are now desperate and can hardly afford the mortgage each month
you see the mistake you are there, thinking something you are trying to sell in an open market is worth what you want it to be, there isnt a shortage of houses for sale so you cant dictate the price.
by dropping the price as much as we can, do you mean that you would need to take out a huge debt to pay of unsecured debt after a sale or just that you couldnt afford to move somewhere you quite fancy.
a year ago interest rates were 4.5%, they will soon be 6% + what chance do you think you have of selling when the cost of borrowing has jumped by a 33%.
interest on 675k @6.25% is ballpark £42,100 a year, in a static market anybody with that kind of a clue would rent at a fraction of that price in the current market.0
