  • Of course it was possible, I think your getting confused.

They had to have received the letter on OR before the 1st December. You could have sent the letter on the 25th November registered delivery.

Plus im slightly confused by the dates your using. Surly you can still cancel this by sending them the letter now if the renewal date isnt until the 1st December?

    You are getting muddled up.

I signed up on 30th November and cover started on 1st of December, which was the renewal date. How could have I cancelled on 25th? We are talking about 2012, not current year.
  • just consider this, today is 30th November 2012 which is a Friday. You sign up lunch time and then continue the practical course until the finish time of 5pm. Your window to provide a written notice is between 5pm and the next day by means of registered post. Next day is Saturday 1st December, today post office already closed. So it's not possible to provide a written cancellation notice on or before the renewal date by registered post.
  • I also have an email from another student that states that she also thought that unless she signed up with the membership she would not be receiving the qualification.

Again, you said it stated "on OR before"

Its like any insurance policy that auto renews. You are cancelling the renewal, not the actual current policy in place.

As such you could have sent them a registered letter on the 25th asking for the renewal to be cancelled.

Can you post a link to the website so we can view the wording please.

But how could I have cancelled it on 25th when I signed it on 30th? I had to give them 12 month cancellation notice on the next day by registered post?

By signing on 30th Nov the insurance policy would have run from 1 Dec 12 till 1 Dec 13. So for them to have my 12 month notice in writing prior to 1 Dec 2012 when was I supposed to do it?

You keep saying 25th, I signed the agreement on 30th, the next day was the renewal day. We are talking about a 12 month cancellation notice here, not 1 day cancellation, I couldn't have given it to them on 1 December 2013, as they wanted full 12 months cancellation notice.

There is no contract online, all hard copies.
  • I signed on 30 November 2012 (Friday)

Policy started on 1 Dec 2012 (Saturday)

Policy expired on 1 Dec 2013.

For policy not to auto-renew on 1 Dec 2013, they asked for full 12 month notice.

Deadline for that notice was 1 Dec 2012 (Saturday).

Again, I signed on 30 November 2012, so not possible to give notice prior to signing date.

Can you confirm that you have cancelled in writing the renewal due Dec 1st 2014 ?

What business are you in and what is the name of the association ?
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill
