  • Hello everyone:hello: , I'm a long time lurker and really struggling with house work. We moved from a small flat to a large house in the summer, instead of it being easier to keep tidier, there just seems to be more junk spend further around.:)

not sure if its any use to anyone but cleaning tip in the paper this week was cut a grapefruit in half dip the cut edge in slat and use that as an oven cleaner to cut through grease. and apparently cutting a potato in half and dipping the cut edge in salt works wonders on rusty pots and pans.

havent tried either but wondered if anyone else had heard of them or tried them with successful results?

change of plan here, just about to head out to mils when fence guy turns up (i thought he said he did contract work tues-thurs but apparently he told them he got rained off so he could come and finish mine) - hes also cut down and poisoned the elderberry in the front garden that ive been waging war with for years.
neighbour will be pleased as she cant let her dogs out while we dont have a full fence as shes worried they'll keep running into mine

Bathroom done (apart from the floor) but shower room still to do. Stopped for an early lunch as I was hungry. Going to do another HHC at 12 and then get ready for shopping and taxi service.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker Xmas Saver!
    Monday ~ Bathroom
    Clean bathroom floor
    Wipe down mirrors

    Tuesday ~ Kitchen
Check baking cupboard for stock - make list for any bits needed for Xmas coffee morning baking
    Clear tools out to shed
    Move plinth for wardrobe
    Ironing

Wednesday - living area, hall and stairs
    Declutter all these areas
Put on a load of washing

    Afternoon all,
Really not doing well with my lists this week. Last night I got home from work via the dentist and was so tired and drained I had to stop myself just going straight to bed. I don't know if it's the cold weather, work or what but I just feel very bluergh.
Rather than dwell on what I didn't get done I'll celebrate what I did do and keep chipping away at it.
    Last night I;
Put the DW on then emptied when done, also popped it on after with a cleaning thing in
Shredded the waste paperwork from Monday
    Filed away a few bits
    Cleared 4 programs off sky+
Cooled and ate an evening meal for the first time since Saturday
Tidied up behind myself so no added mess

I might be at the cinema tonight so flying time maybe minimal but I'll aim to do something, however little.

Hope you are all well, hugs where needed

Living room and hall Done yesterday. I'll do some of main bedroom later.

Misty and damp here today. I tried to find DD's coat in another branch, but no luck. Decided to buy the one we found yesterday, despite the mark, and get it cleaned, as that will most likely be cheaper than driving round county looking for one!

  • Afternoon all!

Friend has been over most of the morning so I did the dailies and a quick S&S in bathroom before she came. Have then had lunch and cleared up the toy bomb that went off while she was here :)

    WmX1 on airer

need to dust everywhere + do mirrors windows everywhere. This doesn't take me very long but I want to do it tomorrow morning as DH due home about 1.30pm so want the house to be tidy. plus ds1 has playschool so I can do it in peace while ds2 sleeps (hopefully)

Maybe il do the windows today so I don't have too much to do tomorrow as I also want to do the bathroom again and do DC bed sheets and do kitchen floor and wash the sofa throws...

ok random gibbering and lots of 'ands' in this post. Better fly now I think !

    Catch up this evening x

Been for coffee and mooch round the shops with bestfriend, her hubby and their DD3, then their friends turned up so I started to feel like a spare part as I don't know them so I decided to come home.
Prepared dinner and put it in the slow cooker, unloaded the DW and reloaded it with food prep stuff, not enough to put it on though.
Just remembered I've forgotten to feed DD1's chameleon so I'd best do that in a minute then have some lunch myself. My GUAG seems to have wander off somewhere, hopefully it'll be back after I've eaten.

I just sprint cleaned the bathroom, including floor! :D.
I'm not managing to get anything upstairs done as the woofer won't let me leave her alone (unless I come off a night shift and go to bed- weird!). I also can't do anything fridge type stuff as she'll eat everything in sight!

Am very far behind the list but am looking at it as more of an aide memoir to actually DO SOME HOUSEWORK! :o.
Floor downstairs is getting hovered at least daily though and looks like it is hovered about once a year!

DS will be home soon and ready for his trumpet lesson. DD will be staying at home and hopefully chucking some tea in the oven for us.

    Catch you all later :)

Yes that's pretty high on my list. Gathered together most of the paperwork I needed a couple of weekends ago owing to a short-notice visit from my brother who's an ex-accountant/small business advisor. We went through what I had, I asked a few inane questions and made copious notes. Er, that's as far as it got. The desk-clearing task for today may enable me to double-check there are no more receipts etc lurking around, so that's given me another incentive. Keep reminding me and I'll keep reminding you!

How are you getting on? Tax return has been top of my list for the last 2 months saying ribbit ribbit ribbit :)

Was MIA yesterday, bathroom blitzed to order though on Monday, even the revolting shower plug hole. It's a wonder I have any hair left on my head  :rotfl:
