Surely if you don't give any you don't expect any back?
So my partner tells me every night.Q: What kind of discussions aren't allowed?
A: It goes without saying that this site's about MoneySaving.
Q: Why are some Board Guides sometimes unpleasant?
A: We very much hope this isn't the case. But if it is, please make sure you report this, as you would any other forum user's posts, to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com.0 -
Most of the non-Christian people I know, myself included, are perfectly happy to get involved in the Christmas festivities. Just do whatever you'd do for your other colleagues.0

What would be more offensive:
- sending a Christmas card?
- treating your colleague differently to anyone else?
Does your Muslim colleague refuse to take the 2 public holidays associated with Christmas and the one associated with the Julian New Year? Thought not. Given that he's joining you for the team meal, what makes you think he would be offended?
Unless you stick your head in the sand from the end of August onwards you cannot fail to notice that Christmas is the dominant national celebration in the UK. You're sharing your good wishes at a time of year that is significant to you, not committing him to turkey, tinsel and midnight mass.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

We're Muslim. Everyone I work with knows this. They all send me cards and wish me a happy xmas. I'd be upset if they didn't.
The only religion that doesn't want xmas cards are Jehova's witnesses.
We buy xmas pressies for our children, lots of Muslims do. It would be unfair to single your children out at school when everyone else is gettting and talking about xmas.
Buy him a card and wish him a happy xmas, the same as you do with the rest of your colleagues. I'm sure that you won't offend him in any way.

Depends on who gives cards first. I don't like giving cards out at work regardless of if I get one.
It doesn't mean that if he doesn't give them out he doesn't like Christmas and is offended by it.Our Rainbow Twins born 17th April 2016

I had a lovely friend who was a muslim - since retired from our office, we used to send him a christmas card, but he didnt send any to us. He used to take them home for his kids to open.0

I think the only offence he'd take is if you pelted him with pigs in blankets. So don't do that. Nobody in their right mind would be offended - religious or non - by someone wishing them a happy period of time.
"I hope you have a nice weekend"
"How offensive!"
Nonsense.
Do what you would if it was another normal person - because that's all these people, those people, us people and every other person are.I can't add up.0 -
