Frosty here. Kids are asking for school jumpers for the first time this year. I welcome it, I hope it will kill off all those weeds in the garden because I can't keep on top of them
I am hoping the same, I have just cut back the raspberries and I have no idea how the weeds managed to grow underneath them
And TS, I know it's awful but sometime in the relatively near future they will not want to share Christmas, it evolves slowly but it does, it is not nice in the beginning but then you find different ways of spending Christmas. It is harder when you live so far apart, we live 1.5 hours drive from the in-laws and for the first couple of years we went down there for Christmas, and for the first one when we had our DS, but after that it just seemed unfair that we had to do that so we stopped, we just wanted the kids to be able to enjoy Christmas at home so we started going a couple of weeks before Christmas, and we still do now so many years later. We are very fortunate in that the kids live nearby so we are going round our son's in the morning to see the grandkids, coming back for lunch (really can't face lunch with her family, they are a bit loud for my liking!) and we are spending the evening with our daughter and her boyfriend. Again, Christmas has evolved. I hope you can just enjoy it and not let all the arguments get to youWhat is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
Morning all.
Very wise words from VT about the whole Christmas thing. It's a shame how what is essentially just another day can cause so many problems. We want to spend the weekend before with DH family and the weekend after with mine and just be the two of us at home on the day itself. The problems stem from SIL, who wants everyone to go to her on Christmas Day. This means a longish drive and then either one of us not drinking, or staying over and having to sleep on an inflatable mattress, which kills my back, and longish drive home the next day. This would then be followed by 3+ hour drive the next day to my family. There are no small children involved in any of this but it still feels horrible. DH only gets a couple of days off and we don't want to spend them driving all over the place but he keeps getting guilt inducing texts from his sister and I bet I know what we'll end up doingSorry, I don't usually post much detail about personal stuff but this is really getting to me.

They subbed my 4 beef with 3 large joints and charged me nearly £8 each for them. Cheeky wotsits.
I didn't notice until I had signed and was just about to drive off. Anyway, I explained to the bloke what had happened, he went off to speak to someone and when he came back he apologized and said they would add £30 e-voucher to my account. :j

Lets hope mother and baby are found safe and well. It was not nice walking to work this morning thinking that I could be walking past them in a bad way and not know about it
