I reckon you can get very good deals if you a) know what you want and what it actually 'usually costs', and b) have strong will power to avoid the hype and not buy other stuff just because its there.

Thanks, I saw this one mentioned when I was researching this this morning so good to get confirmation :cool: Currently I'm using the grill and placing toast on top of tins to get it as close as possible to the grill :cool: I'll be told off by OH if he finds out I'm doing this because he thinks it will use too much electric just for toast so I should get a toaster to keep the peace

ds3 causing trouble today, they did a maths test and he got one question wrong, the teacher told them to correct the answers but he told the teacher that his answer was right and the teacher had worked it out wrong:eek: teacher very unhappy said it came from a test book checked it and insisted ds3 was wrong. but he still refused to alter his answer.. he was sent out of the room and accused of being disruptive . Second question was he wrong, Teacher said so but no one else had checked. So I asked if they could check again. I in no uncertain terms told them if he was polite he has done nothing wrong and the teacher made a mistake and he should have the face to admit it and ds3 was not to be punished.. But deep down I wish he would learn to keep quiet I never realised having a bright child would be so much of a challenge :o:o:o:o:o

Well done to DS3 for sticking to his guns when he was right :T

Both mil and my mum have asked me what Ive bought today.

1) breakfast in the pub with my friend because we are hungover

2) a stamp for a self addressed envelope for dd2's nursery to send home the xmas cards she makes.


None of this rubbish is actually a good price unless you need it.

DP has resevered himself an xbox for me to pick up on Monday. It's the price we wanted to pay but also comes with a game that I will put straight on ebay
