People see all the fight you tube videos and think 'if people are fighting over it it MUST be a good deal'. (Its great free advertising for the shops).

Plus once they are there there is the pressure to grabbit all now without thinking it through.

I reckon you can get very good deals if you a) know what you want and what it actually 'usually costs', and b) have strong will power to avoid the hype and not buy other stuff just because its there.
