You can't pick and choose the argument you are defending

Says who? This isn't your website and you have zero right to try to tell anyone what they can and can't defend and do you really think that someone can't have different opinions and thoughts about two different topics (such as Facebook and Google earth)

Anyway, if you re-read what I actually wrote earlier, you will find that I am only defending part of what they do.

In my first comment on here, I was responding to your post in which you complained about someone using facebook to profile a potential candidate. In that particular post of yours there was no mention of Google streetview and I made no mention that using that particular website is acceptable to me or anyone else.

    Just so you understand.
I think that using Facebook to obtain information about job applicants is acceptable.
I do not think that using a picture of their house or the area where they live is.

Still it's the Internet so you do get people who like to argue for the sake of it!

So people who have a different opinion to you are arguing for the sake of it?
What a strange attitude to life you have!

I think a poster arguing that a woman with roots and drinks red bull is unprofessional is the definition of arguing for the sake of it....

At least you've finally admitted the street view comment was unacceptable.

    Did Shaun ever say otherwise?

    Earlier you asked:
    JReacher1 wrote: »
So if you were recruiting you would turn someone down for an interview if on Google street view their house didn't make the grade?
    Shaun responded:
No. I've made no mention whatsoever to Google streetview or the type of houses that people live in.
I made sure that I only mentioned using information found on social media websites, information that was made freely available by the people concerned.
    Seems quite clear to me.

You're selectively quoting. It's what people on here do

    Well done though.

Oh, I could've posted the lot but then I am sure you would not have got the point I was making.

    I.e. you are wrong.

    I'm not wrong.

I've noticed before you like to jump into threads as the forum policeman.

You need to choose threads where you're not defending ridiculous arguments by ridiculous posters. It would improve your credibility and help you you achieve your life goal of being a board admin for MSE

Sfa selectively ignored 50% of my posts to try and defend a weak position. He has stated he did this on purpose because "this isn't my website"

It's very weird how a poster who believes that it's unprofessional to turn someone down for an interview based on the fact they have roots, drink red bull and live in a house that doesn't cut the mustard is ganged up on by three very strange posters. I've noticed this before that people who are wrong like to just argue for the sake of it. It's a very odd attitude to have.

I must admit I don't know what Shaun does for a living but he appears to have links to Africa so I am assuming he is the manager of the Nairobi McDonald's.

Well I hope noone here ever finds themselves out of work, it's easy to !!!! all over the unemployed just because you think you're the dogs bollox.

If you're all so successful, why are you even on a money saving website? losers.

I ignored some of your posts because they contained subject matter to which I made no comment about in my first response to your opinion and I quoted that post of yours in full. I was responding to your comments about Facebook and nothing else.

It was only at a later date that you asked me about Google earth.
At no time did I make any statement or implication about Google earth pictures being a good thing for recruiters to use.

As you now appear to be resorting to insults rather than contining to debate, I can only assume that you've finally realised that you are in fact, wrong and have nothing of any value to add.

Many people who post on here have probably been out of work at some time in their lives but that doesn't mean that they must automatically agree with you.
If you only wanted people who agreed with you to reply, why bother coming on in the first place.

Like it or not, we now live in a world where computers are used in a great many businesses and professions and having a basic understanding of how to use them is a necessary requirement for many of the companies that employ computer systems.

If the original subject is really about you and not "a friend", your attitude rather than lack of computer skills could explain why you've been unemployed for such a long period. You asked for advice yet when people offered advice such as going on I.T training, you refer to them as losers.

    Insults?

What's wrong with being a Manager of a McDonald's? Just to clarify are you now saying if you manage a McDonald's it's something to be ashamed of?
