10 days on from having it done, both eyes got it. Iv never even had glasses btw just when i started having eye troubles i went straight for laser surgery. My god it was worth it though, its like life in HD!!! Went for a walk a few nights after(when i was away on holiday) and i dont know how i survived 24 years with these eyes before!! I wonder how long ago i could have had this done.
On a financial front, the outstanding figure stands at £34,332 as of right now with some monies on credit card from booking holiday and paying the laser eye treatment.....and a little present to myself...this is about £4,000. I have a bit of room for making lower payments on the debt so i can pay less on that to get the card cleared off(even though its 0% now it wont be for long) The £4,000 is a minor setback, i feel refeshed after the holiday, almost like i can see clearer now............il get my coat!!!
Hope all is well with you lot, as always, thanks for checking in on my diary. Off to play about with SOA as need to get this card out the way.:eek:Living frugally at 24

Over 12k gone though, impressed at my own efforts when i look back over the thread. I also feel like iv grown up alot since i started tracking what was going on. Iv just worked out my net worth to be -£9,161 so it would be nice to at least break even by the end of this year(achieved by minimum payment of the debt and clearing the credit card)
Challenge accepted, lets do this!!:eek:Living frugally at 24

I'm sure you'll do it YB :T.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

\Hiya YB, just caught up. I am pleased you have had a break and you are back on getting rid of the debt/fine. £25k left by the end of the year? Come on you can do it.0

Okay so 2 weeks since my last post, thought id update if anyone is interested!!
Payday today was a bit higher than expected as just shy of £2,000 after tax landed in my account. The credit card has crept upto £4,500 as van insurance ran out so i put that on aswel. Its 0% until the end of the year so will pay just over minimum payments till the last minute and hopefully the money will be in place in December to clear it so start afresh in 2016 if you like. Il be down to around 27k at the end of the year if i can clear the card off. Il be more than happy with that plus 2 months outgoings sat in current account(£5k). Head down just now been working so hard so this weekend its just a few hours tomorrow morning then stay off the drink so clear head and go in Monday hopefully feeling refreshed and raring to go again.
Iv been neglecting this site recently, away to catch up on a few threads and see whats going on! Miss it sometimes as the support is unbelieveable, even the odd pm i get does alot more than use will ever know. Thanks for reading, speak again soon, i wont leave it so long this time!!!:eek:Living frugally at 24

Morning, it sounds like work is going well and you are making very good progress. Great to have a bit of a safety net to cover any winer times when the weather is bad. I hope that you are also enjoying the summer. I think you might smash the 27k gone by the end of the year target. What are the plans for when you are debt free?0
-
Thanks for popping in. I can only try to smash the target but aslong as I make the monthly payment and get rid of the card while keeping that two month buffer il be more than happy with that. Once debt free the plan is to save a deposit to buy next property, won't take long if I can put away the 1600 that goes to debt right now plus oh has savings for it already and rent out the house we are in. The house we are in has about 40k equity in it(+7/8k more by time I'm debt free) so if a property we really like comes up we could always sell this place if I havnt managed my half of deposit when we have found somewhere.
The first few months debt free il be stashing that 1600 away and I can't even imagine how satisfying it's going to feel! Another years van insurance paid today, least I could afford it in one so that's it delt with for a year.
I'm so motivated to get working tomorrow and try to maximise income that I find myself unable to get to sleep, what a nightmare! Thanks for reading guys, will be back on tomorrow night!:eek:Living frugally at 24
