£46k in debt.....at 24.

Thanks for popping in by. Spent last few nights away getting a break, much needed, all in about 350 down with some work related expenses coming today. Payday Friday should bring £1,400ish net for the fortnight, the pay after will take April earnings over £3k net which is very much needed as credit card that gets cleared every month seems to be creeping up! Over £1k will be wiped off the overall debt pcm so still feel motivated even with odd expense here and there.
Good news came my way on Thursday, after 65 minutes on hold finally got though to someone at hmrc and the fines imposed on me have been cleared so I don't owe a penny, in fact I may actually be due a £123 tax rebate!!! Brilliant as the fines were £1800 and going to be automatically taken off me via tax code for next financial year so got it sorted just in time!!
Last payslip shows income gross of £53k, with all this debt to shift and trying to save up a half decent emergency fund I'm going to try and hit £60k for the next financial year, an extra £3,500 in my pocket could go along way!
The diet/weight training has been put on hold for the weekend as I was away, back on it today though looks like will get some fine chicken for my tea tonight. Lovely day and I'm stuck travelling home, the joys!!
Hope everyone is well, thanks for checking in. Another post closer to being debt free!!:eek:Living frugally at 24

Hey how's everyone?
Anyone have a winner on the grand national?
Glad my working week is finally at an end, worked 7-6 today...same as I did Monday to Friday!! It's actually keeping me out the pub tonight as I really can't be bothered moving!! Quick supermarket shop with oh then home to chill Infront the tv(after all it costs enough for sky so got to start making the most of it!!)
Paywise, I didn't get paid yday when I was meant to!! So will be a bumper pay in a fortnights time!! So I am down to a much lower than expected amount in current account, won't be able to overpay just yet, however I had topped up my emergency fund to a months expenses(£2,500!!)
Work is picking up, have so much on just now, can actually see my pay increasing from the amount that will be on my p60, as much as 12k a year extra as I'm banging in the hours, absolute loving it as I sleep so easy at night now!! Counting up all my change out coin tub to be paid into bank next week, hoping for £500+! What an exciting Saturday night haha!
Going to treat myself to a lie in tomorrow, after all it is free!!! The best things in life tend to be so how did I end up with so much debt! Won't always be like this, aslong as keep hitting the min payments, £1K+ a month closer to debt free!!
Hope everyone is well, thanks for popping in il be back in 3 hours hopefully with my to do list complete!! Have a nice weekend everyone!!:eek:Living frugally at 24

I haven't really got any advice to offer, but I wanted to say you are doing so well. However you ended up with the debt, you have not just ignored it, you are doing something about it.
Keep it up, I believe you will be an inspiration to many people.

I've read the first page or two of your diary, and mate, I've got to say, f****** props to you man. I'm turning 23 this year, and here's me, at 22 years old, umming and arring over my 4k debt. I salute you mate for all your hard work. That is some money to pay back, but you are coping just fine, things going well at work and home, happy days hey boy?
Keep up the hard work and you will find yourself on a gold mine in a few years time pal, good lad0 -
That's a LOT of exclamation marks - have you been OD'ing on caffeine by any chance
Great to read you're so positive :T.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Gallygirl i have actually!! Had one RedBull(yuck!!!) and i was hooked, was on 2 a day for a week, what a waste of money. Out of the habit of it now thank god as theres no way that stuff is good for you. Feel ok for half an hour after it then just feel minging.
ANYWAY, how is everyone this sunny Saturday? Im off today and tomorrow, need to recharge the batteries as had a really busy week and next week looks like itl be busier. Sticking in the hours, made an overpayment of £1,000 to the 0% credit card which has our holiday on.....not the best idea booking that when got 40k of debt to shift but i suppose i am getting over £1,000PCM closer to debt free with each passing month. Aiming to get £10k shifted between now and end of the year so an extra £2k compared to standard payment. Been told i can review it after a year and get payment lowered as its only so high due to high balance. As it stands i reckon im 24 months away from clearing the remaining 40k!:eek:Living frugally at 24

YBM. Hope you have a nice weekend, it looks lovely out there. If you could be so kind, can you talk me through, in detail how you got the link in your signature. I'm pulling my hair out trying to get my diary in my sig. You can pm me instead of on here if you want.
