Hi pleased that there is plenty of work and also that you have booked a holiday, which you will need! You have a 0% card? - any chance of putting money onto that and using it to pay off your debt which is mad interest?
Keep going you are making some really grat progress.0 -
I did consider it but the interest rate is higher than the interest I'm on now and the 0% ends in August and I still have 3k on it to pay off by then, anymore and I would struggle to clear it by then, thanks for the suggestion though I might try and find another 0% when that one ends.
Phoned sky yesterday and got £180 off over the next 12 months, fixed price with guaranteed no price increases in that term, success!! From now till end of May having a really frugal time, going to get a budget sorted out today so I can track where every penny goes as not feeling too flush at the moment!!
Hopefully a good week of earning ahead, get me motivated again!!:eek:Living frugally at 24

Hey guys how's everyone's Monday go?
Mine goes pretty much like 10 hour shift, took a packed lunch-major slacked last week!! Filled van to the brim of fuel-hopefully last 2 weeks. Apart from that was a no spend day! Many more of them ahead of I'm to achieve some minor goals in the near future. Watchin a programme called cashing in, about cash converters stores. A guy took in a fishing rod to borrow a tenner against, paying back £13.33 at the end of the 28 days....can't imagine times being that hard, I really want a few months expenses put away, just can't be done with stress of being "skint".
Anyway off to chill and watch a bit more tv, clear out some washing then early night!! Stick with me this week il be here more often!!:eek:Living frugally at 24

I read your OP sir and you are smashing this left right and indeed centre. I hope you are able to keep paying it down as well as you have been recently! Definitely inspirational!
Do you have any idea of what you will do with the surplus money you make once its clear? Although I can imagine you being so MSE it goes to good use and not an R8!
I also read the Mr MoneyMoustache link you posted a while ago. It makes a lot of sense!Sealed Pot Challenge:

Future surplus will be saved+invested, once I'm out of debt(mortgage excluded) that's it, I won't be back in debt again. So itl be a big emergency fund to start with (12 months expenses probably suitable for me in a weather depending, physical job!) then into BTL/self build, see how things are once I get there but that's 5 years away at least. Can't imagine how chuffed I would be with £1600 pcm surplus, probably be eating much better quality stuff than I am now anyway.
Anyway how is everyone? Another day another dollar as they say. 8 mile run last night so tonight spending it Infront of the tv! 12 hour shift tomorrow and 10 hours friday+sat, thinking of the long term benefits+keep me off the drink!!
Not doing all that well though didn't take a packed lunch today, will make sure I have one the rest of the week now!! Keep smiling folks, positive thinking goes along way.:eek:Living frugally at 24

Well a slight delay since my last post, felt like i was speaking to myself with the no replies but my PM's recieved in the last few days suggest otherwise(thanks to the ladies, they know who they are).
How is everyone? Thanks for popping in. This week has been horrible, weather wise. No work done yesterday or today. Tomorrow looks pretty grim aswel but an improvement on these last two days. Iv put a bit much into the emergency fund(that i now dont want to take out again) So i will be running on near empty in the current account until the end of June, which maybe isnt a bad thing as out of sight out of mind to encourage no spend days.
No spend days and no unnessesary spending is my key to getting this debt paid down fast, the income is there to do it i just have to concentrate and prioritise. My week away in the summer wont be too much of a setback, i feel i need it as feeling a bit weighed down with naff weather just now so not getting much done.
Onto meal plans with the gf so thats saving some money out of the joint account. Still need to step it up fitness wise and get back into boxing, not to lose weight, just to tone up.
Feel like i just want to go to bed an wake up tomorrow morning with the sun out. Will more than likely have to work this weekend to make up for lost days but gotta think of the money to get out of the mess im in.
Every now and then i try to remember just the minimum payment is getting me over £1,000 PCM closer to debt free. For June,July and August i will have to try and double that so i can see it fall quickly and get £6k off in the 3 best months of the year(weather and income wise!!)
Anyway going to stop moaning and spend the rest of my day chilling out infront of the tv and searching these forums as they are a massive help. Thanks for reading if anyone still is, sorry for the overdue rant!!:eek:Living frugally at 24

It's natural to have some ups and downs YB and don't lose sight of the great progress you have made :T. When is your holiday in relation to your busy spell? Before it would let you have a breather and 'gird your loins', after would give you a well earned rest so both good :T. Of course a break both before and after would be better - but let's get the debt paid off first
