Aldi & the number plate machine

No secret. The fact is that many Aldi stores only got planning permission if their car parks can be used by drivers using other local shops. So, in those cases any one can park there to visit non-Aldi shops and consequently would not use the terminal inside Aldi to input their car reg. Which means if one did use the Aldi store why use PE's terminal...they can't tell who is who and it matters not a jot.
Also, with my local Aldi, the car park area is divided between Aldi and for those who use a PH....so one can enter and exit the car park but PE's ANPR while 'seeing' you enter and exit have no way of knowing where you parked. And as PE does not manage the PH parking spaces.......
Have you moved address (lately) and failed to notify the DVLA of the change so that your car's V5C can be updated?
PE doesn't care where you park, but break their petty rules and you will get a NtK from them. They don't need to know 'who is who ', the DVLA will give them that information!
And planning permission hasn't stopped them in the past! Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Sorry, but what is the "Point" (from their perspective) in getting you to put you no. in?0

I pondered that also. If they have ANPR why the terminals?? In my situation it is pointless because 1) No need to use Aldi where terminal is as one can park and use other shops and 2) the ParkingEye's cameras on enter and exit fail to show where the car was parked and if parked in a space not 'managed' by ParkingEye then the camera 'evidence' is void.Got a ticket from ParkingEye? Well, if PE are stupid enough to send the likes of me, in the circumstances I've stated is the case at my local Aldi, one of their NtK, then it will cost them as the onus at POPLA stage is for them to show where I parked. Aldi spaces or the PH's? And they can't.
Edit to add. While PE says one can only park for 1 1/2 hrs in an Aldi/local shop parking space one can stay as long as one like whilst in the PH/in the PH's parking spaces. So you can see the problem for PE? And there is nothing to stop a driver from parking in one space then moving to another....neither PE or NPE(who 'manages' the PH spaces) will know.Got a ticket from ParkingEye? @edward123. You haven't answered my question re address change. I can't believe if you've 'flouted' PE rules you've not received a NtK.
There's been a number of recent cases where PE NtKs have gone to previous addresses and where the motorist has failed or late in notifying the DVLA of the change - and now have PE CCJs against their name.
If you've not had an address change - you've been lucky, so far!
And yes, I know PE charges can be beaten, but if anyone takes their eye off the ball, court papers are on the cards.

No address change since 2005 when I notified all who needed to including the DVLA.If you've not had an address change - you've been lucky, so far!
Not down to luck because I only stated I never have inputted my reg into on of PE's terminals....never got a NtK.....so what is their point? Hence why I said I walk past the que of shoppers who religiously do!

Your'e right there but as I said, their ANPR system in my circumstance are next to useless for the reasons I have given.Got a ticket from ParkingEye? Seek advice by clicking here: Private Parking forum on MoneySavingExpert.:j0 -

We've had a number of cases in the past where the PE NtK showed 'parking time allowed 0hrs 0mins' and 'parked for 47 mins' (for example) despite a 90 minute 'allowance'. The OP has been unable to understand why this has occurred.
In these cases it always transpires there was an in-store terminal the motorist was unaware of, so failed to punch in their reg details, and a NtK arrives on their doormat 5 days later. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum.
